  1. In my home, tonight's mlb broadcast was brought to me by Stone Brewery.
  2. I'll give them Posey. Probably Crawford. I'm done. (though I could see the argument for Pence this year when he was on the field)
  3. Wait...Smoltz is saying that the position players are a wash?!?
  4. Yeah, it was getting really slow so I rebooted the sql service.
  5. I wonder if Posey will talk to him about not busting it out of the box.
  6. NotSoSober, indeed! lol. I doubt he's the only one. (I can personally attest to that.) Hey, I came home in the 5th and I'm pretty well lit.

  8. Can you stream through your provider on your phone? Working on it. They parked in what appears to be a dead spot for Verizon.
  9. And now I'm stuck on the tarmac at O'Hare because there is no available gate for my late flight they knew was coming for a couple hours now. Aaaargh
  10. Of all the times to have my horsefeathering flight delayed...
  11. Ditka is an ignorant piece of horsefeathers racist. I mean, sure. I'd prefer, I don't know, Scottie Pippen or something. But it's not random that he's there. Dempster's inclusion is pretty random. Dempster is still a team official.
  12. Yeah, he was out of options this year.
  13. You need to think a lot higher than freaking Yadi.
  14. who is the fifth guy?
  15. I'm in.
  16. Extra pain?
  17. Maximum pain would be something like... Giants go down big early. Something like 8-0. Cards get out to a big lead early - also an 8-0 edge. We're talking like the second inning for both teams. The Giants stay down and every Cardinal + fan is thinking they are on to a game 163. Then the Pirates start chipping away at the lead. It becomes 8-2. Then 8-3. Then there is a three run home run and it is 8-6. Now the full-on panic begins. What once felt like theirs is being taken away. Then the Pirate bats go quiet for a few innings. Things start to feel safe again. The Cards add a couple of insurance runs in the bottom of the 8th. They go to the ninth with a four run lead. But because it isn't a save situation, Matheny doesn't bring in Oh right away. Siegrist gives up a seeing eye ground ball. Then he walks a guy. Oh still isn't up. Then Polanco hits a two run double and Matheny finally gets Oh up in the pen. Siegrist gives up an RBI single on the first pitch and Oh still isn't ready yet. Sean Rodriguez comes up and Siegrist grooves a fastball that Rodriguez puts over the fence to give the Pirates an 11-10 lead. Oh is finally ready and shuts the Pirates down. The Cards get the bases loaded with nobody out in the bottom of the ninth and go popup, sac fly not deep enough and runner gets thrown out at home and end on a Grichuk strikeout.
  18. Yes, I know we can't make trades yet. But I'm bored waiting for a party to start up tonight and the Cubs were no help, so I was looking at my keeper points. Keeping for certain (exempt guys): Bryant Correa Schwarber Sanchez Cotton (stupid fifth start today) Norris Additional exempt options: Profar Guerra Guys I REALLY want to keep: Trout (635) Carp (430.5) Kluber (626.5) Price (521) Guys I'd like to keep: Bradley (495.25) Cruz (555) Duffy (460.5) Strasburg (399) Carrasco (387.5) Others of some note: Pence (310) Martin (349.5) Smyly (314) Scenarios that work on points as of today (points still to come on Sat + Sun): Bryant + Correa + Schwarber + Sanchez + Cotton + Norris + ... Kluber + Price + Carp + Strasburg (1977) Kluber + Price + Trout + Profar (1782.5) Trout + Price + Carp + Strasburg (1985.5) There are going to be some tough choices to be had. It basically comes down to losing one of Kluber or Trout vs losing both of Carp + Strasburg. I guess it'll come down to what I can get in trade for those guys. It would be really hard to give up the best player in baseball, but going into next year with a pitching staff of Kluber / Price / Strasburg / Sanchez / Norris / Cotton would be ridiculous. It sucked losing in the playoffs *again* but at least next year looks pretty damn good still.
  19. lol - That's all they give to a former player?
