  1. Most of the time he's getting close to the 20 or better, though. So if he's breaking one out to the 40+ once in a while, it's probably worthwhile.
  2. Unless Stan can come up with some really unexpected trades, I agree. I think they'll be running this same core out there until the Kane/Toews/Keith/Seabrook contracts start coming off the books. The biggest hope for the team taking a leap is significant progress from the youngsters. Dach and Boqvist, in particular, need to play like first line guys. They need a big bounceback from Debrincat. It would help a lot if Suter were another Kubalik. I think the names are going to be largely unchanged, though.
  3. I don't see teams being willing to give up much in trade this year for guys at expensive points of arbitration. Free agents are going to come at a relative discount, so it makes no sense to trade for guys getting expensive arbitration agreements. I don't see Theo being willing to take pennies on the dollar for his guys. I think we ultimately mess around at the edges and bring back largely the same team next year.
  4. That was a tough read for Willson on a broken bat, soft liner. Understandable why he didn't get a clear read on it at first.
  5. or just eliminate both teams. Are you guys too young to hate the Padres? I'll always hate the padres. I'm going to guess they are. 1984 was 36 years ago gramps. :(
  6. Good contact by Contreras, but lined out to Marte
  7. Raining at Wrigley for anyone following online. They should be able to play through.
  8. Didn't they also hit the most groundballs, or at least top 5? Highest rate. Not sure if they were #1 in quantity
  9. Both were 3-0. I didn't know that Happ's slump coincided with him dealing with a knee injury. Hope he's getting better.
  10. Dickerson should have been out on strikes, anyway.
  11. Kyle looked like he was missing his spots a bit in the first. He left several right over the heart of the plate. Hopefully he dials it in as he goes.

    NFL Week 3

    yes, yes they are.
  13. Bowman just can't help himself. Hawks reacquire Pirri in exchange for Sikura.
  14. Yeah, I watched it. He's got a really easy arm action for that velocity. He was clearly nervous and lacked command today, but the stuff looks great.
  15. Awesome note from The Athletic:
  16. Guess this is why we haven't seen him until now.
  17. Brailyn does not look like he's throwing hard. But the nerves appear to be getting to him a bit.
  18. Cleveland took the lead over Pitt, so it looks like we're knocking the sox down to 7th place.
  19. Q looking pretty good also. I'm pretty comfortable with the pitching going into the postseason. If we hit, I think we've got a decent chance.
  20. Also, it wouldn't matter because cincy and StL would just swap the 5th and 7th spots with Miami still being 6th since they'd be the worst second place team.
  21. How would Cincy move above StL in that scenario? cinci could still theoretically finish a game ahead of st louis if the cards had to play the DH against detroit tomorrow and lost both. but i guess it wouldn't affect home field so it won't happen. But how does that happen in the scenario you listed with StL winning and Cincy losing?
  22. To give you the details, the second place teams in the divisions are all seeded 4-6. The two wildcards are 7 & 8 no matter what the records are. i know, but i was confused about the tiebreakers How would Cincy move above StL in that scenario?
  23. Since the Marlins are up 3-0 yes definitely if mia/stl win and cin loses, dont we get the reds? To give you the details, the second place teams in the divisions are all seeded 4-6. The two wildcards are 7 & 8 no matter what the records are.
