    If i were to guess, i think the other Tribe might take a serious look at him. They are having some fairly serious issues with their bullpen atm, and McDowell might be able to help him a bit.

    Not been a good year for 40+ aging relievers trying to push the Sun up one more day. The latest victim is Roberto Hernandez, who has been DFA'd. Called up a minor leaguer until probably sunday when Westbrook is expected back. Would imagine they will put Lee in long relief. Also the Tribe put Delucci on the DL with a strained hammy.

    B/c this is baseball. There are things you dont talk about in public or go on record for- just like in the Army. This is one of those no-no subjects. Upper management in baseball is very much an old school closed society. Additionally, the Union will probably file a grievance over this. So there will have to be a lot of legal maneuvering and other shenanigans going on that Baseball would not have had to deal with.

    You dont fire owners. You just make it very difficult for them to get anything done until they give up. This is one of the main reasons that Baseball interviews potential owners and has to approve any sale of a team. b/c it aint easy or pleasant getting rid of a silly owner- like a Marge Schott. Ask Mark Cuban if he feels any heat from the league office. Edit: The Commish does have the power to heavily fine a team for something like this. This might be a nice 6 figure gaffe.

    Tom Hicks is trying to become the biggest boob ever to own the Rangers. And considering how well the incumbent is doing as President, it may be a long haul. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2910661 I dont think the Commish is going to be too happy with his comments. I think the MLPBA even less so. Maybe the beginning of the end for his tenure down in Texas.

    Sometimes a change is in order, not only for the team but for the player. Barrett, right, wrong, or indifferent was singled out early on as one of the trouble makers and therefore one of the scapegoats on this team for this year. Even if he went on to win the Batting Title, he still would have been tagged for the fight with Z, v 1.0. There were a number of things he was getting blamed for (justly or unjustly) in defense, game calling, team relations, mental errors, and base running blunders. Does this mean he was the only one doing it? No, others have been thrown out stealing 3rd and getting hung up between the bases. But consistently, he was one of the ones showing the least amount of proper judgement in his total game. I hope he does well in SD, and i am glad we got a return on him before he headed out on us via FA. This at least gives us a backup catcher under contract for next year. Blanco is headed for surgery and that may be touch and go And Hendry is not giving up this year just yet.
