  1. I think 9-5 before the injury and 6-17 since says it all. Fire Hendry now. Didnt provide the help when we needed it. Now we are almost 10 out and you can just about stick a fork in us. Thanks Jim!
  2. Can you win if I give you retread and/or [expletive] players? How do you feel if i select your entire coaching staff for you? Can you still win with little support from the front office when things go wrong? Last question- Can you keep up the mysterious aura of "cant miss" prospects missing and providing useless and totally meaningless injury reports by the front office?
  3. Kent Mercker to the DL with elbow soreness. Team physicians believe it is related to his back problem from spring training. Reds are going to let him totally heal before he comes back, so 3-5 weeks in all probability. Called up Mr Burns from Louisy. Chris Hammonds will take Mercker's role in the pen.
  4. :? Oh, you mean Kerry Wood.... Lol @ Northside.... http://generic-viagra.4you.gb.com/images/sildenafil-viagra.jpg
  5. well played.
  6. then he is right about average and not slightly above. But the thing i dont understand is that we have 2 other power corners that are doing way below Jones OPS production and they are not getting railed on. And our other power spot is down with an injury. Murton is .286/.768, although he is clutch and i would miss his 2 out rbis. Murton is 10 out of 14 in league OPS rank. ADisaster is .217/.721 and is hitting exactly .007 points higher than the Neifury. He is 10 out of 12 in league OPS rank. Yet no one is yelling about them, ARams 11m dollar waste of salary, or whether Murton will ever have the ability to hit more than 25 HRs at a power spot, which apparently is a no no in the Jones argument.
  7. Like I said he would be #7 in the league, which is better than avg and the median. And he is only 10 ABs from qualifying which he would have had the last couple of days except for his groin.
  8. i did. it is .795 of those qualified. interestingly enough, Mr Burnitz is dead last.
  9. but it is a positive Jones thread. I mean he is better than average for the NL. that was the whole point and people are still mad. i just dont get it.
  10. ya, among other things. he has had one heck of a tough life, and i hope he catches a break soon. Got called up to Louisville last week, so its only a matter of time until he gets back to the Show once Griffey goes down again.
  11. i think you are confusing him Julian Tavares.
  12. i need rocket here to remind me about Alex Sanchez.
  13. no, not after 20+ pages of anti-Jones sentiment. i need blood in the water.
  14. no, just fair and balanced reporting. all of this negativity is bringing me down and bumming me out. Those who know and remember me from posting know i can be pretty negative, but it is getting way out of hand on this site. I mean we had a freaking poll started yesterday on Dempster's role as closer after he blows a Save for the first time in recent memory. If someone is doing their expected job (regardless if you are happy with them being there) or doing a good job, we need to post that and give them an atta boy every once in a while. Otherwise we end up looking like a strung-out bunch of lunatics.
  15. anything i say can be used against me in a court of law.
  16. i do, and i am waiting. have said all along that Pierre is his own worst enemy and DLee got in his head and freaked him out. He will be joining us soon though.
  17. Well, you are entitled to your opinion. But i am not hating. I just said in the earlier 20+ pg hatefest that Jones needs a fair shake and pointed to the Boston-Renteria disaster last season. Sometimes it just takes a player 1 month to adjust to the league. One of those crazy things. But we do need to get more positive posting going in here. Need to find some diamonds in this rough.
  18. Sure got quiet in Jacque Jones world all of the sudden. Now hitting close to 275 and has the 2nd highest OPS of his entire career going at 806. That is good enough for 7th in OPS for RF in the NL with those qualified. Yet there are crickets chirping here. So where you be? Let me hear ya.
  19. Jones is/has been hurt. Murton was probably benched for the game today because of the blunder yesterday. Cedeno has had a bad ankle since last weekend. Dusty is trying to get Barrett a rest to finish up the 17 in a row. Hairston has been 3-5, so he arguably is hitting well in the last couple of games. Neifi has also stepped it up over the last 10 days. Just tough when so many things are going wrong at the same time, including your $11m poster boy at 3b hitting .220 with only 4 hrs. Neifi has almost caught that now.
  20. The two people that have to go are Hendry and his boy Rothschild. I saw Sergio go down last nite. Maybe one day someone will see the pattern on why all of our developed right handers are all coming down with shoulder and elbow problems. I think that is a total of 5 or 6 now in the last 4 years. Seems to me to be a pretty strong pattern. The smartest thing Hendry could have done in the offseason was let Larry go to his friend in Detroit, instead of further hamstringing Dusty. But no couldnt do that and ended up giving him a salary boost to stick around. Just more dumb management 101.
  21. What i find funny is how everyone is usually screaming for Dusty's head for leaving a pitcher in too long. He takes one out after only 73 pitches, and he still cant catch a break. So he is damned if he does, and damned if he doesnt.
  22. You could offer the Yanks all 4 and still get the same answer....NO. Kid is going to be spectacular, and no way the Yanks trade him...no way.
  23. Mr Fick was just brought into the Washington dugout in Atlanta. The Nats placed C Schneider on the DL and activated Fick off of a rehab assignment. Dont know why Bowden did it given the history, but I hope Kerry puts a 90+ MPH fastball at his head Wednesday if Robinson starts him.
