  1. Um, no. Those 9 pitches he just took in his AB ran Washburns count up close to 100, meaning he had to be taken down for a PH. Hopefully we can have better success against another pitcher instead of the 5 freaking hits we have so far.
  2. How is Seattle's pen? 4th in the AL.
  3. Washburn up to 93 pitches...may have to PH for him. Keep it up Cesar.
  4. Wow, LaRussa is killing a rookie. 3.1 IP 8 ER and runners in scoring position. Still in the game.
  5. Ausmus goes deep...Astros take the lead 4-3 over the Billy Beaners.
  6. Well, as i said earlier, stupid baserunning is stupid baserunning. and that was stupid. no reason to call me freaking stupid though...
  7. Washburn is a good hitter...now 9 for 32 lifetime.
  8. KC kicks the XP. Now up a TD on the Redbirds.
  9. Tigers scored again and are still threatening.
  10. Was that a slider that didnt slide? Cant throw a HR hitter one right down Main St at 80mph.
  11. He cant hear me...i am not there. ESPN should be picking up coverage in just a second anyway. Ask Curt Schilling how that works. who was that guy from the nationals that gave up the hit as soon as they moved to bonus coverage haha Bergman? Ya, ESPN got him too.
  12. He cant hear me...i am not there. ESPN should be picking up coverage in just a second anyway. Ask Curt Schilling how that works.
  13. Houston, St Louis, and Milky all losing atm.
  14. I am on Barrett b/c he is responsible for the lack of production in the middle of the order this year and is a horrific defensive catcher. Barrett and Murton have both been thrown out at 3b more this year than all the others combined. Why we have a catcher get thrown out stealing 3b 2 times in a week is a mystery i would like solved. Murton is just a lack of concentration. I also used to be on Alou. Stupid baserunning is stupid baserunning. Doesnt matter who is doing it.
  15. This is only his 2nd year in the bigs and he was hurt most of last year. But if you look at his game logs, he appears that he will be a streaky type hitter at the pace he is on. Quality 3 position OF back up though with speed. Just need to get him some work and with the lefty going, probably a good nite to rest Pie.
  16. Pagan .294/.357/.867 Murton .259/.338/.683 DeRosa .264/.347/.790 and .222/.300/.633 v. Washburn Higher avg, obp and ops. Better chance to score in front of DLee. Batting DeRosa later so him and Theriot can team up possibly for more offense after Murton and Barrett get thrown out on the basepaths.
  17. Wow- Murton and Barrett batting back to back. IF they can get on am sure they will run us out of a couple of innings. Maybe they can figure out how to both get thrown out on a double steal.
  18. Dug up this column from Phil Sheridan too. Fairly interesting read about another organization in the league and their ability to learn from previous encounters. Also a few tidbits of info between the lines. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/phillies/20070612_Phil_Sheridan___Pitching_woes_part_of_familiar_off-season_trap.html
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2902257 Interestingly enough, Manuel is going to put Myers back in the closer role when he returns. Going to leave it up to the kids to pull down the #5. Kyle Kendrick takes his shot tomorrow nite. Also says he has been hurt since ST. Wonder if the Phils will pursue a grievance with the BlackSux.
  20. Only the Fish, Phils, and Cubs are above .500 in IL play. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
  21. The rally killer label is something that you can blame the saber geeks for in this case. Dunn's Babip is very avg. career wise. He seemingly only walks, k's, and hits HR. Some GMs only really want guys who can put the ball into play....but obviously Hendry isnt one of those guys. Havent looked at it in a while, but would be interested to see how the shift has been affecting his avg. Either way, there is cause for concern for a team in getting him that needs him to advance runners ie continue rallys(most contenders have multiple run producers) instead of just driving them in (only 1 or 2 run producers). The Cubs however dont have the money long term to do a deal (with the impending sale) b/c a new contract would have to be worked out as his options for 08 and 09 are voided upon trade and it just wouldnt make sense to do it for just this year. And i really dislike Steve Phillips- not only as a GM, but as a human being.
  22. In fairness, you forgot his bad baserunning play after that walk when he will get thrown out trying to get to 3b on a ground ball. Everyone will positively comment on his "hustle" factor and his aggressivenes on the basepaths in trying to stretch it from 1st to 3b and conclude we need to see more of this to help MM build up his power factor.
