    Status Update: 368 PA Through the game on 8/15 the cubs had played 119 games. 8/16 marks game #120, meaning a need of 372 PA. Four in tonight's game, and he is at the required mark.

    Cubs no hit through 5 innings. White Sox no hit through 5 innings. How unreal would that be, two no hitters, same city, after over 2 years without one.

    I have no idea when wrigly was built. But you can't be suprised since it's been such a long time. 1914 Cubs didnt play there until 1916 though.

    We should tear down Wrigley and make them earn a new stadium. Start with a field. Install 400 seats after every win.

    I agree, guest conductors and throwing back homeruns are what is holding this team back. We are so close guys!

    Agreed. Breaking records isn't enough to have your number retired. You need to be more than just a player...and yeah, it's tough to clarify, but like the saying goes, "I know it when I see it." Right. Robinson arguably is not a hall of famer if he is not the first black player, but his actions clearly did a lot for the game. I would like to see Clemente and Ruth also retired. For all of MLB? Why? Both were great players, but what did they do equivalent to what Robinson did? Clemente did the equivalent of what Robinson did, except for latin players, imo. I feel like Ruth revolutionized the game in the way that he played it. He had a great personality, changed the way we think about power, and was the only player to be an absolutely sick pitcher and hitter. He also broke a lot of records, unlike Clemente and Robinson. I don't even know where to begin on this. How many latinos played the game before Roberto? Did he face anywhere near the resistance? Hell, lets retire 51 for Ichiro, the first dominant player from Japan. What about Chan Ho Park, surely he went through what Robinson did.

    Really? Pat and Ron said that Dusty came out to argue-at least that's what I thought I heard. Unless I turned away and missed it, but I didn't see anyone come out. But Cedeno did have the bag when he got the ball. My Tivo disagrees.

    Was just thinking how much turnover this team really has. In this lineup: -1 player from 2002 -2 players from 2003 -3 players from 2004 -5 players from 2005 Why did Izturis have his stats reset? He was already in the NL.

If you called the Cubs and said in a confident voice "Jim Hendry's office, please", I'm sure the operator would transfer you to his assistant (or one of his assistants) and that person would stop you right there as soon as you said who you were... What if I said I were Coletti? Probably better to chose a name that didn't work for the Cubs. Coletti might know the secretaries. Fine, JOHN Coletti. :lol:
