  1. Rick Ankiel has a ridiculous arm.
  2. 2 K's for Wood 10 years after his 20 K game. 2x10=20 sweet man
  3. Shouldn't we be calling him up soon? Wow, beat me to it.
  4. Banninated. I'm going to kind of miss him come MLB draft time. The dude was a jerk, but he knew his stuff. He was so high up his pedestal you couldn't see him through the clouds Am I the only one who misses Meph? He was a jerk, but he was really a smart baseball fan, and if you could just ignore his arrogance he was a good read. I guess I'm just sad to see us lose the mind that figured out EQA. I kind of miss him too I just feel like the board was more exciting to read when Meph posted here. there were some fun arguments and i got a lot smarter with him. i found his personality funny although i never got on his bad side This is exactly how I feel. It seems like a lot of people enjoyed him but a few got on his bad side, I just wish people could just ignore him and not ruin the fun he brought the rest of us. Oh well, too late now. If nsbblol really hurt anyone's feelings they need to man up, it's the internet people...sad. AND he shouldn't be held accountable for his actions outside of the website.

  7. Quite honestly, I think he's ticketed to a life of trading for Goldman Sachs. He's got the arrogant attitude that investment banks love to have on their payrolls. My dad is an investment banker for Goldman Sachs...yeah I guess he is an arrogant a-hole so I'm not really offended.

  9. Picture quality really has improved since 1998....
  10. I don't always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis - Geovany Soto I love that commercial/ Yeah, Geo was sitting in the dugout talking and laughing a few days ago and the Dos Equis guy is who he reminded me of. Geovany Soto - STUD

  12. Our lineup has the potential to be scary good....random but just looking at the lineup, if you replaced Theriot with DeRosa and fiddled with the order, opposing pitchers could dread playing us.
  13. In 1973 Mike Schmidt as the everyday starter hit .196. In 1986 Barry Bonds as the everyday starter hit .223. In 1990 Sammy Sosa as the everyday starter hit .233. So enough judging a player based on his first year as an everyday starter. cedeno at age 23 had a 54 OPS+ schmidt at age 23 had a 93 OPS+ bonds at age 21 had a 103 OPS+ sosa at age 21 had a 92 OPS+ in two cases cedeno was 2 years older than the player, and all of the players you mentioned were doing something well - hitting for power, drawing some walks, or both. cedeno wasn't doing either one. pointing this out for no other reason than to say that the comparisons aren't good ones. you need to find someone who was completely unproductive. It's a little much to compare Cedeno to 3 of the greatest players in the history of the game.
  14. Yes I do. Do YOU remember when Mike Schmidt hit .196 as a rookie? The Phillies obviously should have released that worthless bum. You just compared Ronny Cedeno to Mike Schmidt...................................................................................................................................................................................... Yes, to point out the absurdity of basing playing time decisions for THIS year based on a player's performance AS A ROOKIE TWO YEARS AGO. But its better to base how good a player is by 1 month of spot starts and pinch hitting? When that performance is THIS year and our argument is based on TWO YEARS AGO, yes. Yeah because if he started every game this year he would be hitting .380? I'm not going to continue this debate. I'm not going to change your mind, you're not going to change my mine, and ultimately the only mind that matters is Lou's. Agreed Just remember, NCCubFan's opinion is the correct opinion.

So enough judging a player based on his first year as an everyday starter. Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa had a little help im guessing lol both of them were very good players before they started to juice
  16. I kinda hoped that Gallagher would be given the next shot. The weight he lost seems to have added velocity, and he has been sharp down at Iowa. The non-Brian Roberts trade keeps making me happier. Cedeno Gallagher Patterson Marshall Ceda Murton Some combination of those players would have gone and I'm happy to have all of them
  17. Come on, Theriot's offensive numbers don't account for the runs he has cost the team on the base path, he has been pretty good with the bat, but even when he could be giving us reasons to support him he's canceling them out with bad mental baseball. I just doubt his ability. I'm hoping he can prove me wrong though.

You just compared Ronny Cedeno to Mike Schmidt...................................................................................................................................................................................... Mike Schmidt was a rookie at one time too. All established players were there at some point. I'm not saying that Ronny Cedeno is Mike Schmidt, but it's not like everyone knew Mike Schmidt would be Mike Schmidt either. (I hope not at least, I wasn't alive back then but I assume that after a .196 rookie year people weren't talking about how he was destined for the HOF)
