  1. That sounds a lot more like excuse-making for lack of performance than evidence. Or it's a logical reason. It's a logical reason for a pitcher whose performance projected to positive major-league numbers before the changes. But they didn't. He's a good prospect and a major-leaguer, but a 93-MPH fastball doesn't change that the majors and minors have both treated him like a mediocre pitcher on a pretty consistent basis. wait this is sean gallagher we're talking about? mediocre in the minor leagues? i don't get it. A 2.77 career ERA is mediocre, dude.
  2. It's in the movie Mr. Baseball, dude.
  3. Click I'm pretty sure you don't have any kids, why are you so familiar with the song...not flaming, just curious. It's an awesome TV show?
  4. shhh, I want to be attacked by the people who don't understand sarcasm.
  5. Soriano is plain bad, people need to stop defending him. He has always been bad and always will be bad. I would much rather have Sam Fuld playing. Sam is a tough, hard working player who always gives 100% and came up through the Cubs organization, and has shown promise like Theriot and Fontenot, instead of this fake showing we are getting from Cedeno. Fuld is actually good, unlike guys like Soriano and Pie. Theres a reason Jim made him untouchable, you never heard him say Soriano was untouchable. The only explanation is that Fuld is plain better than Soriano. I really think that once we have Fontenot, Theriot, Johnson, and Fuld all in the lineup together the team chemistry will just click and we will be unstoppable. Hopefully Lou can see what I see, and does it asap. Fuld Theriot Lee Fukudome Ramirez Fontenot Johnson Soto I mean, Ramirez isn't even hitting .275 and he's supposed to bat 4th? Fukudome is clearly a better #4 option than Ramirez, and I would be very tempted to move Fontenot ahead of him too, he's got a lot more pop than he gets credit for, and he did hit like .400 in his first month. All the Cedeno, and Pie love on this board makes me sick, they are just plain awful, it's obvious, people are so blind if they can't see this. And to the people who think that Theriot is a fluke because he's putting up better numbers than he has ever put up in the minors are just looking for reasons to bash the guy, I mean, come on, some guys just click when they turn 28 and don't have to face AAA pitchers anymore. Where do all of the top prospects play? AAA, not the MLB, they are called top prospects for a reason, it's because they are good. Theriot is the real deal, he's the best player we have produced in a long time, and don't start talking to me about Soto, he struck out 8 times in a row, The Riot would never do something like that. It's obvious that Geovany is just getting lucky and will start playing like the average player he really is any day now, I mean you can't try to make me believe that a guy who strikes out 8 straight times is anything but lucky to be playing like this. If I had to pick between Sammy Sosa and Ryan Theriot I would take Theriot in a second. Sammy was a cheater and never did anything good for Chicago. Hard work, grit, stolen bases, and team chemistry win ball games, not home runs. I hope that this settles the discussion on whose good and who isn't because I am just right about everything, and the sooner you guys accept this, the sooner this team will click. If all the fans believe they are good, they will start playing well. When you have guys like Aramis Ramirez who can't take criticism on your team and all the fans are yelling at him, your going to lose, simple as that.
  6. The second I read Hill's name I stopped reading. This would be plain dumb...your opinions about the Cubs are generally bad. Hill was one of the 30 best pitchers in baseball last year, let's throw him away for a guy who is basically the same as the guy we already have.
  7. Going into today, OPS vs RHP: Johnson - .604 Pie - .636
  8. I don't know. I kinda like the 1st baseman we have now. Well duh
  9. Seems like pitchers are starting to figure Kosuke out, and he has like no power at all, not that this hasn't been said, but I'm just saying again.
  10. That never gets old. It gets better every time I see it. I can almost enjoy it at this point. I have gotten over it and now chuckle when I watch this.
  11. 3 strikes all off speed pitches...hmmm, Chris Young a fastball hitter? Who knew?
  12. He has an ugly swing but he has gotten so much better at hitting since he first came over.
  13. Isn't Barry not in the MLBPA or something like that? He is never in the video games and I thought that was why, maybe it's something else that I don't know.
  14. Bonds wouldn't get out of bed for that much. For a chance to win the WS? He might very well do so. i think you're severely overestimating barry bonds' desire to win a championship. Bonds said he would give up all his home run records for a championship, your massively underestimating it.
  15. It probably, ok definitely, has, my bad.
  16. We should get him. Soriano (RF) Fukudome (CF) Lee (1B) Ramirez (3B) Dunn (LF) Soto © DeRosa (2B) Cedeno (SS) I love Pie but it would be sweet to have Dunn, not only for what he brings but the fact that we wouldn't have to play against him anymore lol.
  17. Yeah, it helps you recover faster and makes your body less tired. Ankiel could keep his performance up when he would have started to tire, and he could play through/avoid altogether any of the daily minor injuries/pains of playing every day.
  18. Video of the throws
  19. I hate the Cardinals with a passion, and think Ankiel is a cheating bum, and I just feel hatred running through my body when I see him, but holy shhhhhhh does he have a freakin cannon. If you haven't seen his highlights from tonight, they are unreal, his outfield arm is on its own level.
