  1. And everyone that jumped on him or being a wimp should now step up and apologize. (At least until he misses his next start). I love how certain people just talk crap without getting all the details. It's pretty clear that anyone who has an OUNCE of reasoning capability (with the information given so far) would realize that 1) Kerry hasn't had spring training really, in that he's pitched 1 rookie league game and 2 re-hab starts, so his recovery time might not be what it should. 2) All pitchers get SORE, and if he needs to skip one day, then he needs to skip one day until he's had 4 or 5 starts under his belt (since he missed ST). Instead people jump to conclusions and look like idiots with their vitriol, when they didn't have a clue as to what was going on. Clearly, Woody doesn't want to miss a game, nor does he THINK he's going to miss the game. People should wait until actual facts come through before criticizing people. But that would be too rational for some.
  2. Did Kerry get a standing O from the crowd when he went to the mound? What was his reception like?
  3. There's really not a player I hate more. Though SlapCraptacular is getting close.
  4. Yea but he can catch the ball dude.
  5. One other thing....Miller will hopefully be taking Rusch long relief position when he returns. Marshall is firmly planted in the starting rotation considering the team is 6-2 when Big Sean is on the bump. I'm very concerned about Marshall pitching well past his normal innings pitched total. Having only pitched between 75 and 90 innings per year the past couple years, he's not a good candidate to be in the rotation all season. I've been thinking about this as well. What do the Cubs do if Marshall continues to pitch well? What should they do? (What will do and what they should do are usually 2 different things when it comes to the Cubs) Could they just shut him down? Not without drawing the ire of moronic fans they couldn't. Also it depends on the situation. If they climb back into a hunt, it may behoove the cubs to shut him down (ala prior in 2003 - though that was a couple starts due to the Giles collision) so that he's fresh in september. He's going to get deadarm - it will happen. So let's get him some starts off here and there.
  6. well with Neifi hitting in the 6th spot. Wood's due for a ND or a loss, despite throwing effectively. The Good news is we can then describe how crappy he is because he didn't get the W.
  7. Dude, he's 6/14 against Ortiz. The dude can hit, he doesn't go up there looking to clog bases or nothing. He saved us, and tose 14 at-bats mean more than his career numbers. He's had some unlucky breaks - hit the ball on a rope dude. He's due for a good break.
  8. I think I might have to go beat the ever loving crap out of Dusty. Way to support your pseudo-ace pitcher in his first game back from rehab. Perez in the 6th spot. How can Hendry look at this and not say "you're fired".
  9. Breakfast at 11:30? I wish I was still in college.
  10. From what I heard on the radio, it looks like it may be this.... CF - Pierre LF - Murton 2B - Walker C - Barrett RF - Jones 3B - Neifi 1B - Mabry SS - Cedeno P - Wood Yes -- Neifi batting 6th. :( There is no way Dusty is dumb enough to bat Neifi 6th. Right? Then again he's a 3B. Can't have your 3B batting any lower than 6 dude. 2 days of great lineups followed by this. I guess this is how I would make the lineup (assuming Pierre can't be touched). Pierre Murton Walker Barrett Jones Mabry Cedeno Wood Perez
  11. I think Miller needs to worry about not getting fatigued and getting to a good place pitching wise instead of focusing on young Sean.
  12. It was disabled because the sheer size of the tables necessary for searching the site was completly crippling the performance of the site overall. Tim has been busy with real life projects, so he doesn't have a time frame to give us on it. Gotcha. Would archiving old posts, say 2 years or older, and getting them off the server help in making the search function, functional again? Some have been archived, and for a while the search function was turned back on for Premium members, but the site problems re-occurred. So it's back to the drawing board. That sucks. Well thanks for all that you do to keep this place running! We can live without the search for awhile. Plus it makes me totally unaccountable for anything I say.

  14. I agree that he should be given some slack for not being here....but maybe he should refrain from claiming hindsight when he wasn't around to know whether it is or it isn't. I agree with the latter, but again, there's probably posters here who have fallen back to the "wish we woulda signed Nomar" camp after his recent hot streak, which would be grounds for hindsight. Hey, I offered to pay for his premium membership for 5 years if he could prove I'm speaking from the rear view mirror. Just because the search function doesn't work doesn't mean you can't scroll back a few pages to the end of '05 and see who, what where, when and why. Speaking of which: 1) Why was it disabled? 2) Will it ever be enabled again?
  15. Nomah rules. I hope he hits 75 HR and 350 RBI this season.
  16. Clearly you didn't see Bynum go Yard yesterday. He's like a young fast skinny Barry Bonds.
  17. If we didn't have to censor our language my post frequency would triple due to the amount of time it takes me to translate what I want to say to what I can say. And nobody wants my post frequency to triple. Q4T on both accounts.
  18. Giles and 7 RBI sure help my fantasy team alot.
  19. Since I helped MasterShake out, I get permanent shotgun priviledges unless I'm driving the Ronny Cedeno BandWGN
  20. :whisper: retitle your thread "The Sean Marshall BandWGN"
  21. Our Lord and Savior has arrived..... again. Let's do it Kerry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
  22. That's getting me excited for the late lunch I'm taking today.
  23. Wood was a rook in 2003? wow.. Sweet dude, he's only 24? Damn.
