Yea his OPS isn't so great, and his slugging has tailed off remarkably this year. He still is an OBP machine, but the sudden major drop off in SLG% makes me think he might have been on something. 23 of their first 37 have been at home, where no left handers do any good slugging wise. Also, of their 14 road games, 9 were in the 1st/2nd week of the season. Just because someone is struggling to hit homers doesn't automatically mean they were on something. He played there last year and still slugged .470 or so. He's at .350 this year. That's quite a remarkable drop. I'm not saying he did or he didn't...

What happened? He and roberts had some words after roberts scored. Resulted in warnings. Didn't Barrett do the same thing in 2004 with the Astros' and that eneded up firing up the 'Stros to the playoffs? You would think he'd learn. I'm pretty sure the Cubs choking, and Dusty being an awful manager is the reason we didn't make the playoffs that year. Blaming Barrett is about the dumbest thing I've heard.

What'd it say? I talked about the Cubs not being patient at the plate and it being an organizational philosophy to be aggressive and not place value on guys with high OBP You should have asked him to analyze that Dusty quote.

Quite possibly the dumbest thing ever said by a major league manager. How can a guy get away with saying this and not get ripped a new hole for saying something this idiotic?

Let's face it he's not a 3 hitter but we don't have one and you need to get runs anyway you can. Espically with the wind blowing in. Let's face it sac bunting is the dumbest move ever, unless it's the end of a game. If you let Cedeno hit, and he gets a hit, Perez goes to 3rd and scores on Aram's fly ball (you can get a run on an out or a hit) If you sacrfice, you HAVE to get a hit. Saccing is STUPID. Yeah but no matter what you need to get a hit. Either from Cedeno or ARAm. Dude, it's been mathetmatically proven that saccing lowers your chance of scoring runs.

Because if you haven't noticed we haven't been exactly scoring runs lately, so dusty has to try to get runs anyway you can. I have no problem with that play. That's because... forget it, I don't need another suspension.

Prior does the same damn thing. I think it is pretty obvious that Rothschild's philosophies focus on getting hitters out on pitches outside of the zone. ridiculous approach when the entire staff is full of 'stuff' pitchers. throw it over the middle of the plate and let the natural movement of the pitch get it off of the sweet spot of the bat. Unless your Rusch and you have no movement.
