  1. It was both happy and sad seeing woody out there last night. Probably melancholic. Good to see him pitch well in the playoffs with the last memory being that game 7. I still get goosebumps thinking about that HR. So we got that going for us....
  2. Anybody on how many rows are in the bleachers?
  3. How many Rows are in the Bleachers?
  4. Scored 4 Bleachers for Game 2.
  5. Lou pulling Z had nothing to do with those hard hit balls and you know it. If Z stays in this game could still very well be tied. And if he had pinch hit for Zambrano in the top of the sixth, it might be 5-3. Who knows. It was a reasonable, if not great, move to put in the best reliever on the team. That's my whole point. Who hasn't had faith in Marmol ALL year in every outing? I had more faith in Z for one more inning than anyone in the pen, to be honest. And it's not whether or not one has faith in Marmol and Howry, because I'm sure we all do, but Z can handle 1 more inning (~15 pitches) before starting on 3 days rest. And, of course, y ou're playing for a game that might not exist. and I agree 100%. The strategy is questionable, but the loss itself isn't on him. You want your manager to put the team in a position to win. I don't think Marmol puts us in a position to lose. The strategy is debatable, but the loss was on Marmol.
  6. That's cause the manager removed the ace who was dominating after 85 pitches. For another ace with a .168 BAA and a 1.69 era with 0 runs in his last 23 outings. Like I said we lose this because of not having enough pitching in the 12th by pulling Z - it's on Lou. This one is 90% on Marmol. Why are you okay with removing a guy who was flat out dominating and had only thrown 85 pitches? I don't get it. I'm not "ok" with it. I didn't "like" it. But it wasn't an awful move. It was a calculated, reasonable move to save Z because Lou thought (as did I) that Marmol would be lights out, and we'd be able to scratch one across. If Lou put in a crap pitcher, I'd say it's all on him. Don't you get what I'm saying?

  9. Yes, Marmol sucked. And yes, Lou put his best reliever in. But I don't see hte need to put Marmol in in this situation. I understand that viewpoint. I totally do. I wanted Z out there as well. But this wasn't some really really stupid Remlinger-matchup, stupid move. The loss isn't ALL on Lou.
  10. I just find it incredibly amusing how the crowd favorite skates by, but the Manager (who always gets all the blame and no credit on EVERY team) gets the hanging. Carry on.
  11. Fine. I'm done arguing. Lou didn't pitch and he put our best reliever in. Guy's gotta get outs. It's Marmol's fault.
  12. No. The Cubs' best was already in the game. you people sure weren't saying that a month ago. or even 3 weeks ago.
  13. Not complaining about the reliever he chose, complaining about the choice of going to the pen so early. EDIT: Z could arguably have still been our best in. That's fine. If we would have lose because this game went into 13 and we had marquis lose, then it's on lou. Marmol had to put up a zero. It's HIS fault, and his fault alone.
  14. How some of you are blaming LOU for putting our BEST LIGHTS OUT reliever in the game is beyond me. It's absolutely ridiculous. It's not like he went to Eyre. He went to our BEST guy out of the pen. Our RIVERA. Christ. The stupidity is overwhelming. Can we blame our PLAYERS for once? It's not like Lou put us in a bad situation. he put our best in.
  15. If Webb is still shaky and we're patient, I like our chances of pushing one across. Those are two big "ifs", though. No patience. Hit his first meatball, just like Lee, Z and DeRo did please.
  16. It's a staring contest. Hopefully Z doesn't jump first.
  17. No offense, but I think that's stupid strategy. GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDAMN.
  18. One mistake by Z or Webb could and probably WILL determine this game.
  19. First pitch over the plate. Webb's MO. Way to go Z!!!!!!!!!
  20. We score 2 runs with the way Z is pitching and we should win tonight.
