I'm saying in a general sense that having someone with experience on the team might help in the overall anxiety level of the team. Just like if you're in a room full of anxious people in a crisis, the results probably won't be as good as if you were in a room full of calm, cool-headed people. That's all. I'm not saying it's going to impact specific at-bats. And I never did. There's something to be said for how environment affects a person's ability to work, and that exists, in sports, business, and life. If a player has a positive calming effect on said environment, it certainly can't hurt and probably will help the overall mood and approach of his surroundings.
