  1. As a body of work, Rolen hands down every day. From right now on, Ram.
  2. I was perusing the A-Diamondbacks board and they were bitching about their manager not playing young kids (Connor, Quentin) and having a perpetual hard-on for veterans. I thought I was on a Cubs board. Phillies fans hate their manager at well, and think he's the biggest moron alive. IF only the fans were allowed to be managers, all these teams would take off
  3. I can't believe people are even remotely complaining about this deal.
  4. I think I watched that 15 times in a row just now. Then I started replaying just the first 15 seconds another 10 times. :D I love the crowd explosion. Nothing like it in a tight game at a tense moment.
  5. Considering that the game isn't until tomorrow, I doubt it. Sarcasm escapes some people. Went over my head too. How was your post sarcastic? Perhaps poking fun at everyone who asks miles questions about the lineup and everything else all the time? That's my best guess.
  6. too many reliable pitchers for him to burn them out. he trusts howry, eyre, williamson, ohman, and dempster COMPLETELY. And I'm sure he trusts Weurtz too based on last year. He can't burn em all out. It's not like when we had the Farns and then Alfonseca and a bunch of rubbish.
  7. We have 3 if you consider Barrett pinch-hitting and replacing Blanco as a pinch hit. Barrett twice, and Mabry once. Last night's HR was only Barrett's 2nd this season, and it was not a pinch hit. He only has 1 PH HR this season. duh. God I've been [expletive] lately.
  8. We have 3 if you consider Barrett pinch-hitting and replacing Blanco as a pinch hit. Barrett twice, and Mabry once.
  9. A Cubs-Cards NLCS would be the stuff of legend. Especially if the Cubs won. :D On a walk of grand slam by Barrett.
  10. Alcohol wasn't playing a role in lack of balance was it?
  11. seriously, this bandwgn should be at 8 pages tonight or I'll be disappointed.
  12. No love for Wuertz? I thought we broke camp this year with 11 pitchers. We did but we only have 4 starters so there are still 7 in the Pen Z Rusch Maddux Marshall Williams Wuertz Howry Eyre Williamson Ohman Demp.
  13. Bumping this after Ronny's start. 8) I LOVE driving it.
  14. I was hoping that there would be a fight bewteen the Cubs and the Cards and that Pujols would inadvertently pull off Carpenters arm and use it to beat Perez into retirement which would also result in Pujols being exiled to the D-Rays permanently. Am I a true fan? In that case the two negatives to the Cards would outweight the loss of Neifi and you would be a true fan.
  15. Dempster's a funny man.
  16. Ron is downright unintelligible (I think that's the word) after Barrett hits that granny, screaming like a crazy old man. Haha, I think that would also apply for all of us. I know I was quickly screaming like a crazy man when Barrett made contact. Well I jumped up too and was screaming but you could understand my words clearly "Get out, Get the F out, Yeaaaa, F yeaaa".
  17. Every manager is going to make mistakes. I just want him to consistently make the right decisions. I don't expect him to do so EVERY time.
  18. Ron is downright unintelligible (I think that's the word) after Barrett hits that granny, screaming like a crazy old man.
  19. In a 162 game season, it's natural for those ebbs and flows to happen. And the intensity is always going to be high against teams like the Cards.
  20. I thought the attention and intensity of the fans last night was playoff-like. It seemed everyone was into the game, making noise, supporting the team. I wish it was a playoff game. It sure felt like it.
  21. I swear watching Baker manage THIS year is like I'm living in Bizarro world. He does the opposite of everything I EXPECT him to do and he's making good moves generally.
