Actually, I don't think that's a very optimistic blurb. We are: "previously mentioned" and "in connection" Oh I know, I'm just saying it appears that Jennings is still an option, after it sounded like he was off the trading block. Would you be willing to give up Rich Hill and Felix Pie for Jason Jennings? Or would you rather go out and sign a similiar pitcher in Marquis without giving up Hill and Pie? Neither. Suppan or Penny FTW.

Yes, I can now confirm that Ofman did say that "The White Sox and the Cubs are both pursuing Rocco Baldelli". I don't really know how I feel about Baldelli. I think I'd rather keep Jones.

I don't think that's true, Odalis Perez is set to make about 7.5 or so next year. Odd, one site said he was due 1.7 next year, but you are right. Maybe that's how much the Royals owe him, since the Dodgers sent money to them in that deal? I dunno.

Marquis is terrible. He's not worth $2 million. Go after Suppan now. Maybe it helps us get Suppan?!? BTW, I don't think you can judge Marquis soley on his performance last year either. His previous two seasons were not bad at all and to get a guy with that type of potential for a million or two would not be bad at all. It's very low risk because he won't be guaranteed a large salary or a spot in the rotation. There's no need to go low risk again. We need a solid pitcher. His K/BB ratio sucks, and his ERA+, sans two years, sucks. Miller is our low-risk guy, we need to fill the rotation with solid, durable pitchers (like Suppan or Penny)

Do the Dodgers need BP help? Jones plus the extra Pen arms for Penny? I don't think they need Jones since they just added Gonzalez and Pierre, while still having Ethier, Kemp, and Loney.

Jones, Dempster, Hill, Izturis, Mateo for Hudson and Renteria? No thanks. I like Hill better than Hudson.
