  1. Astros have bases loaded 1 out for Carlos Lee, down 4-2.
  2. LOL I KNOW ISN'T IT SO FUNNY WHEN THE OTHER TEAM SCORES RUNS? LOL, CUBS SUCK LOL CUBS MORE LIKE COBS M I RITE? LOL LOL LOL GAME OVER LOL
  3. russell branyan just homered for the cards...
  4. LOL you've said that 100 times already tonight LOL LOL LOL LOL
  5. Sure am glad we didn't trade for that big bat at the deadline...
  6. Exactly. I know the 2006 Cardinals-type playoff run only comes around once in a blue moon, but I'd at least like to have the CHANCE to pull off a miracle run like that. Can't do it if you don't get the opportunity.
  7. Seriously. This feels like 2004 all over again, players more worried about things outside the game (this year the fans, 04 the announcers) than they are about winning it seems. Everyone should just shut up and play. We have 26 games left to win this division and go to the playoffs. Go out there and play like you want it.
  8. I don't have a link or anything but I'm pretty sure Lee and a few others came to his defense too. Hmm. I'll take your word for it. I miss a lot of stuff like that not being in IL anymore, but I couldn't really remember seeing anyone speak out like that.
  9. funny, I don't remember anyone (on the Cubs) really caring when JJ was getting booed.
  10. wut Bring a glove because Trachsel is going to give up about 6 home runs. Bring body armor because Zambrano going to attack the fans. har har. Plz don't lose.
  11. And those Yankee fans were correctly labeled idiots by most of the rational world. Do you think Cubs fans are idiots for boo'ing Z? Z has done nothing close in the Majors to compare at all to what Arods done. Not idiots, but definitely selfish like Z said. I've spent 20 years watching this team constantly crap the bed in big games/points in the season. I was at Game 6. It's been 99 years since we've won a World Series. We're in the heat of a playoff race and we've been given plenty of opportunities to expand this lead further than the 1.5 games that it's been for awhile now, but we haven't. I say we fans have every right to be selfish.
  12. Yeah, to the best of my knowledge, that's been the only knock on Wuertz all along; his command. I dont think he trusts his fastball enough. I understand his slider is his "out" pitch, but he gets way to slider happy. Its usually not a strike so I think alot of smarter hitters go up there basically with no intention to swing knowing that the slider wont be a strike. I agree. It seems like every time he goes up 0-2 he throws slider after slider until he either walks the guy or he swings at it.
  13. This umps zone has been crap all day. Hill wasn't getting that corner earlier. Pure crap.
  14. Should be yeah. K-State should be decent but not great. I'm not expecting much out of Iowa State and Kansas, and I have no idea what to expect out of Colorado this year. KU will be in the top 3 in the North. And we always have a shot at beating you clowns. so they'll be third in the North?
  15. Ridiculous? I think Mizzou is solid, but I don't see immense talent oozing from them. Illinois' talent is very raw, but I think there is more of it. Yes, I think it's ridiculous. I think this year's Mizzou team is much more talented than this year's Illinois team. We have probably the best TE tandem in the nation, an outstanding QB, and some very solid WRs, along with (the very inconsistent -- stop dancing and hit the hole!) Tony Temple. Our offense has the potential to be in the top 10 in the nation. The defense is still a question mark, but I think the pieces are there. I'm not trying to get into a big U of I/Mizzou argument here, because U of I impressed me in a lot of aspects today and I think we were very fortunate to get out of there with the W, but I think over the course of the season, Mizzou will show they are a lot better than they showed today and U of I will struggle a bit. Maybe that'll be different in a couple of years, but I don't think it will be this year.
  16. Juice was 6/9 and was looking pretty exceptional before he got hurt. Juice wouldn't have fumbled twice and wouldn't have thrown that pick in the end zone at the end of the game. And I told you that Missouri wasn't going to blow out the Illini  And if Gary Pinkel wasn't an ass, it wouldn't have been close. Doesn't matter. A win is a win, regardless of how ugly it is. When we ran the ball twice in a row on 2nd and 3rd and 1, I was speechless. [semi-irrational rant to crazy talk depending on who's reading]Also, to play blind homer who didn't have much replay benefit, did Mizzou get hosed several times during the game? There were two 3rd down plays that it appeared were caught and then the ball came out after they were down, but both were ruled incomplete. I also thought it looked like Daniel's arm was coming forward on the fumble, we got shafted several times with bogus Pass Interference calls, and U of I didn't get 2 Delay of Games called on their last possession.[/semi-irrational rant to crazy talk depending on the reader] Williams and Daniel both gave textbook examples of why QB's need to slide. In Daniel's case he was already 5 yards past the first down marker, just go to your knee already and stop giving me heart palpitations. I thought it was obvious that Daniel's arm was going forward, but I also thought that the Illini QB (name slips me) was down on that 100 yard fumble return, so who knows. The two missed delay of game calls were uncalled for. That's something a ref can't miss. One or two of the PIs seemed to be phantom calls, but it was hard to tell from where I was at. One that sticks out in my mind was a short pass over the middle that the back judge, who was literally 40 yards away from the play, called PI on. Replay showed it wasn't. I hope Mizzou gets another big game on TV once conference play starts, because I think it's ridiculous to say that Illinois is more talented. Illinois impressed me, no doubt (holy speed!), but Mizzou is a very talented team. I hope they get a chance to showcase it in the future. There better be some practice in on those special teams, because they looked awful today. Crossett is a joke as a punter.
  18. Just got back from the game. What a great one. Very surprised it was that close, but it was fun (and nerve racking). In the end though, a W is a W. I just wish the Gary Pinkel factor would stop. Every time we get up big our offense gets really conservative and we throw a bunch of 3 and outs out there. It cost us a bowl game last year, and it almost cost us this game. By the way, I don't think you win this game with Juice, because he can't complete a pass (or his receivers can't catch a pass for him, either one). This was just early season rust, I hope, and hopefully we can come out strong next week and beat Ole Miss. Great game for Chase Daniel, 358 yards and 3 TD/0 INT. I'll take that.
  19. 31 pitch first for Marshall... < 10 pitch first for Wandy? Great.
