  1. Billingsley has elbow pain and will have an MRI. Manager Don Mattingly is unhappy that Billingsley did not disclose the injury earlier.
  2. Do we know anything about the knee injury? He's been such a good player this year, I wonder if a cleaned up knee (or whatever) will help him even more next year? With just two years left after this year, I'm not that enamored with trading him as I was a couple months ago.
  3. "hasn't been all that good" is pretty generous. he's pretty terrible.
  4. man, that'd be so sweet. not holding my breath though. i feel like parise is pittsburgh bound
  5. Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS Yasiel Puig is considered a 5-tool player. #dodgers winning bid of $42M for 7 yrs apparently wasnt even his highest offer.
  6. 10:15am: Puig will obtain a seven-year, $42MM deal, Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportesLosAngeles.com reports.
  7. Broken ankle for Pettitte, out at least six weeks
  8. Collection of scouting reports on Teräväinen: http://blackhawks.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=635988
  9. He's obviously saying there will be good times for Cubs fans and bad times for non-Cubs fans. He'll be the hero for the Cubs and the villain for the opposition. .800/.900/1.750 68 HRs 187 RBI
  10. DO I DARE? http://www.wrigleyvillesports.com/Chicago-Cubs/Chicago-Cubs-Player-Name-and-Number-T-Shirts/Chicago-Cubs-Anthony-Rizzo-Name-and-Number-T-Shirt
  11. Report: Luongo won’t accept deal to Chicago or Toronto, only Florida http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2012/06/25/report-luongo-wont-accept-deal-to-chicago-or-toronto-only-florida/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  12. man, it would be so much less enjoyable watching luongo flop around like a fish out of water after giving up his sixth goal of the game if he were a hawk
  13. Don't know anything about NHL prospects, but everyone on Twitter loves this guy that we took. Someone had him going 12th, someone said he was a top-5 talent. I dig it.
  14. We might not have room for the amount of catches he would want, but he's definitely better than Hester and Bennett, and it's not really fair to put Jeffery in front of him at this point, either. That said, it wouldn't be worth expending any resources on acquiring him, given our WR situation. Right, not denying his talent, just saying I'm not a huge fan (I feel the same about DeSean Jackson, good talent but I'm not a major fan) and I'm all in on this WR corps we have now. More than willing to give them a chance and see what we've got.
  15. Not a Harvin fan at all, and yeah, we don't have room for him. I like our setup of Marshall-Bennett-Hester-Jeffery (in whatever order they end up)
  16. i didnt have much problem at all with the USOpen.com feed. Skipped or stuttered here and there but it was really sporadic, and the picture quality was good.
  17. Pretty sure you can watch Tiger and Phil's group online at usopen.com
  18. Cubs will probably have eat 95% of Soriano's contract. Potential fit with Orioles. Won't get much in return. Other GMs are skeptical of what Cubs could get for Dempster in return (B- prospect). Less value in Dempster because no Type A/B FAs. Not sure if he can pitch in AL. Would get most for Matt Garza. Other GMs expect him to be traded. Red Sox, Blue Jays, Yanks could all be in play. Blue Jays match up best. And then my internet feed cut out so I missed a bunch in between. Thinks something with Soler will happen in next 48-72 hours. Even if a high bid is picked, still some negotiating to do w/terms. Everyone thinks Cubs are favorites. Yankees are expected to be high bidders. Dodgers involved. Agent has leverage, so he can have high demands. Some GMs think it'll be $25-35M. Has power potential, good patience at the plate. Worth taking a gamble on for the Cubs. Now talking Sox.
