  1. Just when you thought our OF couldn't get any weaker...
  2. We're going to need good players to go with that good coach.
  3. Alright I completed my first two drafts this week, both on Yahoo. One was live, which I did fairly well, the other was auto. Here is the live: C: Varitek 1B: Mike Sweeney 2B: Felipe Lopez 3B: Miguel Cabrera SS: Julio Lugo, Ronny Cedeno (just for fun :D ) OF: Jason Bay, Cliff Floyd, Coco Crisp, Craig Monroe Util: Travis Hafner SP: Willis, Sabathia, Capuano, Westbrook, Weaver, Towers, Young, Maddux RP: Wagner, Wickman I'm relatively content with it, I think I can compete. ---------------- Here is my auto, which might be the worst offense in the history of fantasy baseball, along with the best pitching staff ever. Here is the auto: C: Varitek, Pudge 1B: Justin Morneau 2B: Ryan Freel 3B: Shea Hillenbrand SS: Julio Lugo OF: Coco Crisp, Wily Tavarez, Jason Lane, Shawn Green, Luis Gonzalez SP: Pedro, Carpenter, Prior, Zambrano, Clemens, Kenny Rogers, Liriano RP: Lidge, Fr. Rodriguez, Farnsworth (waiver req. for Reitsma) Thoughts?
  4. It looks like Brees isn't going to be in SD next year. If the Bears don't go after him I will be genuinely upset. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2334609
  5. Sammy will always be one of my top two favorite Cubs, there is no doubt about that. If it wasnt for him, there wouldn't have been a reason to watch the Cubs for most of the 90s. He helped change the game, he was hands down one of the most exciting players of the past 20 years. I don't care about the corked bat, I don't care about the steroid assumptions, I don't care about him leaving during the last game in 2004. To me, Sammy will always be that smiling guy who loved to play the game, sprinted out to right field, and hopped after he blasted them on to Waveland. Thank you for the memories Sammy, but I still hope that you find a team so you can hit 600.
  6. Can Gardner transfer? He'd have to be really really upset to choose the NBDL over the new coach. I've heard whispers of Gardner, Horton, and Brown all talking transfer/draft, if they leave, along with Young and McKinney graduating, we could have a new starting five next year. God Bless America. With the way this program is already going, if mass transfers occur, then Mizzou basketball will go even farther into the tubes then they already are. I just hope football season next year goes A LOT better than the crap we've gone through for basketball. By the way Tiger posters, you think Alden should be fired? With the way events have currently unfolded, I say yes. The thing is, besides football (which still won a bowl game this year), and basketball, our "secondary" sports (softball, baseball, women's basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, wrestling, swimming & diving) have actually built solid programs under his regime here. I don't see him getting fired, even though this whole Snyder thing is reason enough to.
  7. If this is the end of Sammy's career, it's kind of sad how the last 2 years panned out for a once illustrious career.
  8. I've been enjoying the coverage in the UK; the commentator is just making up words to describe things. 'That is an awesome potato' 'He's caught some good funny there' Not actual examples, but not far off. The curling announcers in America love to use poker references. "The US team has to go all in here." "They really need to gamble on this one."
  9. Can Gardner transfer? He'd have to be really really upset to choose the NBDL over the new coach. I've heard whispers of Gardner, Horton, and Brown all talking transfer/draft, if they leave, along with Young and McKinney graduating, we could have a new starting five next year.
  10. It is neat that he was chosen, but I really would like it if less Cubs were playing in this thing.
  11. They were my National Championship pick at the beginning of the year, making me look smart right now.
  12. Damn, terrible last shot.
  13. You cannot deny that this isn't exciting/interesting, haha.
  14. My roommate was raving about curling a few weeks ago. I just kinda laughed at him and moved on, but we were watching it from 3 am-5 am this morning, and we're watching it again now. It's awesome.
  15. did I miss something? Where's Wooly? He had neck surgery I believe.
  16. Don't get me wrong, I like Quin Snyder, but this is the best thing for Mizzou and the best thing for QS. Hopefully Alden gets someone halfway decent next year.
  17. 22 at half. Really Mizzou?
  18. Mizzou is down 17 to Baylor late in the first half. I'm transferring.
  19. I'd guess that because the Steelers have more well known and more marketable players. I haven't heard anything about this, so maybe I'm reading too much into it, but... it seemed like Cowher was standing on the 50 yard line for a good two minutes after the game ended waiting for Holmgren to come shake his hand, yet Holmgren never showed. Am I the only one that observed that? I thought the exact same thing, but I've looked into reports and haven't seen anything mentioned about it.
  20. Nothing should save him at this point. I'm not a Snyder hater, in fact I really like him. I think the recruiting violations really messed him up. However at this point I think you have to start over.
  21. I own a Sox shirt for the White Sox. I needed to make myself feel better after a game last summer where we lost to the D-Backs.
  22. I can't imagine, with a name like "Pujols", where they might come up with a joke to put on a shirt. :P I believe it was something like "Edmonds Takes It In His Pujols" or something of that nature.
