  1. Minnesota with an early lead on Cleveland, 3-0.
  2. BEARS have 3 yards total offense to Tampa's -6 yards..... and we have an offensive TD !!!
  3. BEARS' defense is incredible !!
  4. I did a really poor job of predicting games last week, so naturally, I'll try it again...... BEARS 14 Tampa Bay 10 Green Bay 20 Philadelphia 24 Cleveland 20 Minnesaota 23 Go BEARS !!
  5. The 2005 CUBS lead the league in BA & SLG, the were 11th in OBP and 9th in Runs scored. A player like Soriano, who has some pop and refuses to take a walk, doesn't mitigate this problem, he adds to it. Factor in his less than average defense, and you've got a recipe for disaster. Just say no !!! 6. Please be true... Jones wouldn't be a bad fit in St. Louis. They don't need the same type of player the Cubs do. What kind of players do they need then? Bad players? Are you taking into consideration what kind of player he will become when puts on a red uniform ???
  7. Or how 'bout this vintage rotation from 1962...... Bob Buhl 12-13 3.69 Dick Ellsworth 9-20 5.09 Don Cardwell 7-16 4.92 Cal Koonce 10-10 3.97 Glen Hobbie 5-14 5.22 Ah ...... the memories !! :puker:
  8. If memory serves, both the CUBS and the Yankees offered Maddux more money than Atlanta did. In any case, it was all about Larry Himes and a lack of respect. It wasn't about the money.
  9. Who let them in here ??
  10. RR, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, as I realize that the Blue Jays have had a much better go of it over the last, say, 15 years. But, come on, Toronto hasn't had a franchise long enough to even talk about a winning tradition. After another 7,500 wins or so, then we can talk, eh? 1876 thru 2005 World Series team W L pct PA W L Chicago Cubs 9835 9291 0.514 14 2 8 Toronto Blue Jays 2258 2304 0.495 5 2 0
  11. In fact, yes. If you recall, Macias started and led off in 6 of our last 14 games due to injuries. 04/04 - 08/24 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS batting 1st 11 2 4 0 0 0 4 1 0 1 0.364 0.364 0.364 0.727 batting 2nd 5 1 2 0 0 0 2 0 0 1 0.400 0.400 0.400 0.800 08/26 - 10/02 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS batting 1st 24 1 4 1 0 1 8 1 2 5 0.167 0.231 0.333 0.564 batting 2nd 8 2 2 0 0 0 2 1 0 0 0.250 0.250 0.250 0.500
  12. Macias ? Come on, Brian, you're overstating the case here. Through 127 games, Macias had exactly 16 ABs hitting ahead of Ramirez in the lineup.
  13. Dempster made his first appearance from the pen on Wed 11 May. dates Bullpen ERA 04 Apr - 10 May 4.243 11 May - 02 Oct 4.258
  14. The BEARS and Dallas are in the same conference, you know.
  15. My nephew, CubmanPi, is home on leave and is helping me watch the game. He just got a phone call from a co-worker who is home on leave in Racine. She just scored 2 tickets to the Viqueens v. Packers game tomorrow night in Green Bay, and invited him to go along. I'm supremely jealous !!

  18. Why don't you stop playing up the Bears to be gods? Yes, their defense is playing extremely well, but if Jake doesn't throw two TERRIBLE passes, it's 3-0 Chicago. And he's been off all game even with time. If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle, no?
  19. So.... where's the holding call ???

  22. Maybe so.... but it is optional, no?
  23. I want to see that play where Delhomme throws the sidline pass to #31 again, please.
