    The 2005 CUBS lead the league in BA & SLG, the were 11th in OBP and 9th in Runs scored. A player like Soriano, who has some pop and refuses to take a walk, doesn't mitigate this problem, he adds to it. Factor in his less than average defense, and you've got a recipe for disaster.     Please be true... Jones wouldn't be a bad fit in St. Louis. They don't need the same type of player the Cubs do. What kind of players do they need then? Bad players? Are you taking into consideration what kind of player he will become when puts on a red uniform ??? :wink:

    If memory serves, both the CUBS and the Yankees offered Maddux more money than Atlanta did. In any case, it was all about Larry Himes and a lack of respect. It wasn't about the money.

    My nephew, CubmanPi, is home on leave and is helping me watch the game. He just got a phone call from a co-worker who is home on leave in Racine. She just scored 2 tickets to the Viqueens v. Packers game tomorrow night in Green Bay, and invited him to go along. I'm supremely jealous !!

    Why don't you stop playing up the Bears to be gods? Yes, their defense is playing extremely well, but if Jake doesn't throw two TERRIBLE passes, it's 3-0 Chicago. And he's been off all game even with time. If my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle, no?
