  1. If Larry Walker comes in and Dusty counters with Remmy, I am going to cry.
  2. The man looked like was going to pass out on the mound. I don't care if he is from Hawaii or got a 1-2-3 inning. If he had gone out there in the sixth and got hammered, everyone who is defended the decision to send him back out would be slamming it. Dusty left Williams out too long last time, and he got knocked around. Saving the bullpen is nice, but at this point in the season doing it at the expense of a win is not acceptable. Sure he got a 1-2-3 inning, but I doubt too many would have predicted that.
  3. The way he looked out there in the 5th and 6th, he should have been taken out. Dusty let him in an inning too long his last ime out, and he paid for it.
  4. Dusty is a damned fool. He left Williams out there too long last time, and he's doing it again.
  5. Yeah, I know. From the tone of this game thread, you'd swear the Cubs were getting beaten 10-0. Weird. Go Cubs! I just think that many feel that with the lineup the Cards ran out there today, it shouldn't even be close.
  6. Dusty is a little slow on the uptake. When the game is tied, Dusty might catch on.
  7. That's a dubious statement ... but I'll grant you that the fans' attitude/atmosphere at Wrigley had a big hand in dealing us the events of Game 6. You would be correct. I should know. I was there. The studies that have shown that mass consciousness can affect the outcome of events are well-documented. It was something like a group of patients at a hospital were prayed for and group wasn't. The results were surprising, IIRC. Wasn't there another study recently done on patients who were prayed for, meditated for, some combination of the two, or neither that concluded prayer and meditation did nothing for them? I can't imagine that anyone actually believes that mass conciousness has an effect on something like the outcome of a baseball game, that's just ridiculous. Thanks for your 2 cents. When you educate yourself, the ridiculous can transform into the sublime. By all means then, please continue fooling yourself into believing nonsense. And you can continue fooling yourself into thinking you know better. How the hell can anyone actually believe this? What happens if 2 million cub fans think positive thoughts about the game, and 2 million cardinal fans do the same? A tie? I'm not saying I believe it. Nor do I disbelieve it. But saying something that can't be proven or disproven exists or doesn't exist is the worst kind of arrogance.

  9. If Dusty and his "A" lineup gets beaten by this rabble, it will be a new low, IMO.
  10. In his defense, let's see you try running in 110 degree weather. :D If I had the opportunity, I would.
  11. You be quiet. We need his defense and veteran presence out there.
  12. That's just bad luck, dude. Neifi's a got experience, he'll get it together.
  13. Wow, that's not a knee-jerk reaction or anything. Yeah, I doubt anyone would have said that a couple days ago.
  14. I think the run would have scored anyway, but that was ugly.
  15. Just wait until tomorrow. Boy is Walker struggling at the plate right now. And there are two quick outs. Just what the Cubs need after that bottom of the 2nd. And he looked so good in Cincy....
  16. ill take the hot over the cold anyday. Yeah, but I don't get the cold here, either. The only times the waether is really pleasant in the midwest are in early fall and mid-spring. Burnitz!
  17. It's days like this I don't miss the midwest. Hot and humid.
