  1. Speaking of Trachsel and STL wasn't he the one that gave up #62 to McGwire? Yes.
  2. Of course he will be. Hendry's job is on the line this year, and trading Big Z would effectively end the Cubs' chances of contending. If he is traded, it will be to a team who needs an ace, so the Cubs wouldn't be getting one in return. I can't see Hendry trading him.
  3. Correct. That avatar of yours is hazardous. Some poor child might glance at a computer screen and be permanently traumatized.
  4. Yes, yes he was. He also was a dick about the cork incident with Sammy. Grace is the epitomy of the know nothing, ex-jock broadcaster/color guy. And to make matters worse, he isn't even funny. I agree that Grace is a poor broadcaster, but I had a few LOL moments watching him on FSN Arizona. Not a lot, but a few.
  5. Typical idiocy from Perry. The Indians, Mets and Tiger above the Red Sox? The credibility of that list goes out the window within the top 6.
  6. Not really the subject, but I played both golf (a lot) and tennis (some), and I believe it is far easier to maintain a consistent level of play in tennis than it is with golf. Not that tennis is easy, but if the tiniest thing is off with your golf swing, you're having a bad day. Tennis is just a bit more forgiving, IMO.
  7. Why? I don't know that he's a punk, but he sure looks like Bubba. When his playing days are over, I'll bet he takes up shrimping.
  8. Well, if Sampson is a bad coach, then Davis must have been worse than Dusty-because IU played much worse than this with a more talented squad last year. That may well be. It doesn't make Sampson any better, though. I guess I don't see the huge talent on this IU squad-D.J. is a great player, Wilmont is great at times, Calloway and Bassett are good but erratic, and everybody else are really role players. The talent level certainly doesn't suggest a 17-6 record to me. Agreed. There is 1 future NBA player on IU right now, and he will never be a great NBA player. Sampson has them overachieving or achieving near their peak level this year. I don't see this huge talent advantage you guys might see. There are three talented player on the Illinois squad. Pruitt (who is good, but not an NBA prospect), Randle (who will never realize his enormous potential), and Smith (who is still not right after his ankle injury). The rest range from average to awful.
  9. Since Illinois won the first game, I'd call it a push. not by a long shot, the ej thing would overshadow 8 consecutive sweeps. oh well, i should be used to my teams getting beaten without retribution by now. Will it make you feel better when Sampson has IU on probation in a couple years? Why do you have to be such a sore loser? It was an ugly game on all sides, and IU pulled out a win. UI won one, IU won one, hopefully they will meet again in the BTT. Just because IU won you have to pull out this "well you'll be on probation" garbage with no evidence of any violations at IU. Man up. I've been saying the probation thing since before the season started, sorry. And because he was dirty at his last job, and the was being looked into. I doubt he has changed, and I really have no idea why Indiana hired him. It has nothing to do with the game today.

Will it make you feel better when Sampson has IU on probation in a couple years? he's done nothing wrong--but zook, somehow is the worst cheater in history because he got some great recruits to play for a talent-starved program. I know Sampson was being looked at when he was in OK, I doubt he was simply forgotten because he switched schools.
  11. Well, if Sampson is a bad coach, then Davis must have been worse than Dusty-because IU played much worse than this with a more talented squad last year. i thought sampson coached well today. what a kick in the head to lose to that guy. no........cosmic........justice. Illinois playing like they had been lobotomized for the last couple minutes helped, too. And be patient, karma has it's own timetable.

  14. It's a testament to Sampson that a team with so much more talent than Illinois loses to them once, and nearly loses to them again.
  15. Since Illinois won the first game, I'd call it a push.
  16. He scares the crap out of me, but that was a bad shot. He's still the guy to watch here. why would he scare you? he's not good. With he exception of a handful of games, he has been nothing but a burden over the past couple seasons.
  17. I want to hurt Rich McBride. Severely.
  18. I hate Rich McBride.
  19. UCLA goes down.
  20. He could have been so good, too. It's really a shame.
  21. This is turning into a real foul fest.
  22. As an Illini fan, I can say that Brian Randle may be the most frustrating player in my memory.
  23. Once this contract is up he will be done, whether he wants to be or not. No one other than the Giants were going to sign him, and once the "drama" of the Aaron chase is over he won't be worth the trouble anymore. The the next we hear from him will be when he's whining because he didn't get inducted into the HOF on his first try, citing racism and other garbage.
