  1. In no particular order: Ramirez Wood Lee DeRosa Dempster Also, in spite of his performance, Jacque Jones. He just seems like he would be a really cool guy. It's too bad he isn't better.
  2. And he's represented by Scott Boras, so you know he'll cash in on this success.
  3. It's just hate-hate with the Brew cause we're in a race with them now. I don't remember too many people having a deep hatred for the Brew in years past. The Brew fans on her have all been classy. Same obviously is said for the Cards fans through the years. Except K-Town obviously No, I've always hated Milwaukee. They've resented us ever since they joined the NLC pretty much because we turn *their* stadium into Wrigley North. They think we're rich, preppy fans or something when in reality we're probably the most varied fan group by both age and vocation. The Cardinals are just different than Milwaukee. They've been here before, they've fought with us before, and we've developed a grudging respect for each other. Us and Milwaukee? Well, we're just not there yet. Also, Hart and Braun are doing all they can to replace Rolen and Edmonds as most annoying players in the NLC. I hate the cardinals more than I hate the Brewers. and its not even close. agreed I hate them all. But at least Cards fans are somewhat gracious in defeat, which is more than I can say for some fans.
  4. Pitchers would be afraid to take the mound against the Cubs. But really, this whole thing reeks of a Boras ploy to drive ARod's price up.
  5. Yeah, and it's not like the umps haven't cost us a game or two over the course of the season. That's just baseball.
  6. Yeah, it's amazing what good six weeks in April and May can do to some people.
  7. After the past couple weeks, yeah. Soriano has had three months this season where his OPS was right at .700 or lower. Prior to this month, Ramirez was on pace for his lowest OPS in four seasons. Lee's OPS is about where you'd expect, but his run production is down, and his power is just starting to come. Jones' OPS is .070 lower than his career average. Floyd's OPS is about .060 below his career average. And only a hot September has brought all these numbers up to where they are now.
  8. Yeah, they're not used to games that matter, and there is a lot of whine with that Wisconsin cheese right now.
  9. Oh definitely. Cubs in contention in September beats any football any time of year, hands down. If the Cubs are in the playoffs, the NFL may as well not exist.
  10. It's looking pretty good. Get you tap shoes ready. And get your dancing in before the Cowboys lose tonight. :P
  11. I'm not concerned yet, Cappy's going to give up some more runs, I think.
  12. Hopefully we can thank them again tomorrow.
  13. A veritable pantheon, probably. All hell-bent on smiting the Brewers by proxy though their endowment of incredible luck on the Cubs and their fans.
  14. I voted for Marmol, but man would it be sweet for Wood to be on the mound when/if the Cubs win the Series.
  15. Seal the cement, redo the field, upgrade the facilities, and the easiest problem to fix is probably the food. They need to fix the field and the concrete, but what really needs to be done is to simply gut the place and expand the clubhouses, replace the bathrooms, etc. Sounds like a lot of work. Not sure if it can be completed in one offseason. Oh, I wasn't suggesting that they do it all this offseason. Over the course of the next 2-3, maybe. But the field must be done. If they won't, MLB could compel them to. Here's a Trib link on the subject: Linky

  17. I was thinking something more along the lines of: Get Out, (leave) right now (of the division race).
  18. I'm guessing by his posts, it is more likely he is from Cubs.com board. Nah, I know he posts here. Trolling is stupid. If one were to enjoy the suffering of opponent's fans, simply watching them suffer would be much more fulfilling. Hypothetically.

  20. There were, but the ownership uncertainty seems to have slowed things up a bit. Hopefully this press lately will motivate people to get it done, because it needs it badly. Plus if it is going to get done, work will have to begin immediately after the season.
  21. They need to resurface the field and keep the concerts the heck away. The turf looks like crap, and I have to believe it looks a lot worse on field level.
