IMO, there's only one way Peavy doesn't pitch Sunday, and that's if the Padres win 2 or all of the first 3 games in Milwaukee. I hope he doesn't have to. Either way, it's a plus for the Cubs. If the Pads drop the first two or three and fall out of contention by Sunday, you don't think it'll be more important to the pdas that they get a look at a prospect and give peavy his entitled rest than play spoiler? Well, if the Pads lose the first three and the Phils and DBacks win the next three, but I don't see that happening. Philly faces Smoltz tomorrow, and Arizona is staggering. Plus the DBacks have to play Colorado over the weekend, and the Rockies are smoking hot right now. It seems likely that either the WC or the West (possibly both) will go down to the last day.
