  1. We've bandied this about in the past in a couple threads. I'd love it. Sometimes it's so hard not to let loose on here. Especially after something like Edmonds, or Marquis giving up 4 runs yesterday.
  2. This is like signing Garvey after '84. That's what it feels like to me. But that's OK. I can be big about this. I'll cheer for him if he plays good.
  3. Theriot saves a run, but Giles the winning run at the plate.
  4. vasgersian and hudler are two bitter dudes. i guess it sucks having to broadcast that suckfest of a team Vasgersian deserves better than that idiot. Hudler? Who the hell is he anyway?
  5. LOL @ Vasgersian. "And since the worldwide leader jams the AL East down our throats on a nightly basis that's all you'll get from me about the AL East tonight."
  6. This idiot's been arguing every single damn ump call on balls & strikes all night. Jesus dude, GIVE IT A FREAKING REST YOU LOST.
  7. Unless the Cubs build up about a 15 run lead here, my guess is that Marmol would go back in. It's too bad, but I don't see much way that it doesn't happen. A 4 run lead here does not assure this game. They've been coming back on us all night. This is not the same situation as putting Marmol in with a 6 run lead and the opposing team has shown no signs of life. Bring in Howry. If he struggles, bring in Kerry Wood. It's not that hard. If Howry struggles it could be tied before you blink. Well, that's a risk I'd take. I'd gamble that 3-4 pitchers can get 6 outs with a 4-run lead than that Carlos Marmol can continue his pace of 110 relief innings this year. I suppose. I'm just saying this isn't as outrageous as the night he was put in with a much bigger lead and it was obviously not going to be a comeback.

  10. Who is that Padres color guy? He's ridiculously bad. My God.
  11. If we can't beat the Padres with 6 runs then something's really wrong. I know. It's the looming presence of Jim Edmonds.
  12. LOL, you just got owned Goons.
  13. I think there's a prophecy in Revelation that this fulfills.
  14. Alright I'm not going to watch anymore. Damn this to hell anyway.
  15. Uh-oh. Iguchi scares me here for some reason.
  16. If Ted could just get through this....
  17. I can't do it. It's too weird/nasty/fascinating/odd.
  18. I think it's safe to update the thread title. Edmonds will be in Cubbie blue tomorrow.
  19. So he's already in Chicago? Unless he took his physical elswhere, I guess that means yes he's here.
  20. Vasgersian: Edmonds did pass his physical, will be in uniform with the team tomorrow. I'm sure this is in transactions, just posting what I hear.
  21. That's the first I've heard about Pie living too much of a night life in Chicago. I don't know if it's true or not, but I hate when reporters spread these kinds of things if they don't absolutely know it's true. Big-league-itis? What does that even mean? That's alot of crap IMO.
  22. You know one of the things that surprises me in all of this is, I never thought Jim Edmonds would *want* to join the Cubs. He really engaged in some of the badmouthing in years past. My impression was always that he really didn't like the Cubs, that it was more than just business. I guess that goes out the window though when you don't have a job. I'm still a little leery whether we are going to get his best effort. He'll probably be making peanuts compared to what he's used to.
