  1. I read something that said he was kicked out of a bunch of schools, yet only committed "minor" indiscretions like slashing car tires, graffiti and putting a dead rat on a teachers desk. Okay, so he didn't rape anybody, good for him, but that's some serious signs of one screwed up prick. That was in high school. He had NO incidents at KSU. Starting to think he's grown up quite a bit. Who doesn't screw around like that in high school? It's better than the alternative of gangs, drugs, booze etc..... He's never gotten in trouble with the law. He was a practical joker. As Frank Martin said, if those are the only issues you have to deal with with a kid, then I'll take those kind of issues ANY time. Slashing someone's tires and vandalism are both crimes. He might not have done them in college, but they are still crimes. I'm not saying he's terrible, but it certainly warrants more investigation by the Bulls scouts, than, say, liking Ding Dongs.
  2. I'm sure kinks need to be worked out first. Just have 'em walk into one of the dugouts and look at it on the screen. It's right there. I'm not being totally serious. But I do find it really poor that there have been video screens all around them for years, and the umps just can't use them. Keep the truth from the eyes that are supposed to see the truth, but let everyone else view it at their leisure.
  3. I guess great move by KW then. That sucks. I really don't actively wish ill on the Sox like some do, but it doesn't bother me to see them lose. Guess they're officially rejuvenated. How odd that both the Tigers & Indians are lame at the same time. Looks like that division is suddenly and unexpectedly ripe for the picking.
  4. Here's how this should go. We draft Rose. We create a trade package and acquire another great player to give us that 1 2 punch. We start winning lots of games. We start winning championships. People start getting really happy around here. There. Why not this for a change?
  5. Another loss would be inadvisable. Take my advice. Win, Cubs.
  6. I'd rather not wait for spring training next year. Put it in at the all star break.
  7. Quentin has to cool down, right. I mean, he's not really this good. Right?
  8. Torres should be able to pick up right where he left off. The incredible news here is that the Brewers are *STILL* holding out hope he will be a miracle. They're not even DLing the guy. He should be relegated to the deepest, darkest corner of Miller Park. But Yost is intent on giving his club the least possible chance to win, so he'll be trotted back out there again, and sooner rather than later. It's getting to be quite comical.
  9. That Rose has a sweet tooth should have no bearing on anything. Players have all kinds of quirks. I'll bet many of them are still tokin' a fair amount. Many good players have admitted to such, yet still performed at a high level. I don't see any of that as a problem like off-the-court crime is. I'd also want to know -- for obvious reasons -- that the guy I draft #1 isn't going to buy a hot rod and play "I'm cool I can go 90 MPH into a tree" one night.
  10. What'd he say? Basically that he thought that Rose has good mechanics on his shot and would become a good shooter. And that he is 6'4, is incredibly physically gifted, and has a great work ethic. I'm sold on him. I don't see a real reason to draft Beasley over him. I'm sure he'll be great, but the idea that he fills our need for a big man down low seems hollow to me, as Beasley's only 6'9" or 6'10". He's not that monster in the middle that I would want to see if I'm going to forego the opportunity to draft the next superstar NBA PG. I don't know how everyone else feels about it. But that's how I'm looking at it.
  11. I'm surprised there were no comments on this previously. they showed them doing it during the telecast last night They showed it on the Stros telecast the next day, with the comment "but the original ump call was correct."
  12. That would be a ridiculous deal for the Bulls. That's about what Hinrich is worth, but getting him outta him would be much more valuable. How is it ridiculous if that's about what he's worth? If you're going to dump him for Rose anyway, I find an extra mid-first round pick to be entirely palatable.
  13. It's true, this park is ridiculous. The stupid train should be blown off that wall too.
  14. LOL, that pitch was a total meatball GD it!!!
  15. Didn't take Jim long to blend in with this offense.
  16. He hasn't been here long enough to get the message that he's supposed to suck against bad pitchers.
  17. They must have fans blowing our hits back into the ballpark. How was that not a home run?
  18. That's right. Keep joking about it. When the Cards & Stros pass us up and we're dipping closer to .500 we'll revisit and see how you feel then.
  19. Chacon just made Ramirez look like a dope. This is ridiculous.
  20. I hate when our O shuts down. Especially after a hot first inning. It's maddening.
  21. Leave it to Wuertz. Jesus. Get out of this thing, K?
  22. I really think it's time you considered freaking out. We're down 2 runs in Houston with 4 trips to the plate left Also, I don't get that upset about regular season games going awry, it's a good way to drive yourself crazy We haven't been that great on the road this year. And we've played a ton of home games. I worry this team isn't as good as it seems. It's not just about this game, it's about what it means in the larger pattern. At least for me.
  23. Will someone please remind Chacon that he's going to suck after we leave town anyway?
  24. I really think it's time you considered freaking out.
