  1. Uh-oh. they changed the rule to 6 innings for an official game right? ](*,)
  2. yeah. rain slams wrigley, and almost at the exact moment dusty's boys open up on parra.
  3. I guess I don't understand what this guy does that's so great that we can't hit him.
  4. True, but will the blister hurt his accuracy. Not pitching for a longer time certainly will.
  5. They aren't a sleeper if most people think they are contenders. Do they? I didn't know that
  6. Let's get your sleeper pick of the year. Mine's Cleveland.
  7. Brees was just on ESPN talking about how deadly hot it is @ Saints TC. I thought they used to come up to Wisconsin for training camp -- wonder why they would go back to holding it in the South in the dead of Summer.
  8. just wait until Clemens, Bonds, etc. aren't elected. At that point it should just be shut down They've kept Rose out for something off the field for decades. People still make the pilgrimage to Cooperstown. Trust me, they won't miss Clemens and Bonds one bit. Rose was one guy who willingly and repeatedly broke established rules in baseball. The "steroid era" players are going to keep piling up outside the door despite only a few of them being "caught" after the fact largely through heresay and innuendo for something that wasn't against the rules at the time, all in the face of how they arguably saved the game post-strike. How many of these guys do we really want in there anyway? Palmiero? Yeah, that's who I was focusing on and not guys like McGwire, Sosa and Bonds. We'll see what happens when Sammy comes up. There's not the evidence of steroid use that there is with Bonds.
  9. 4.03 WHIP is a bad WHIP. It's catastrophic. Is that really true?
  10. Well get out the damn salty brine so it doesn't happen again. Notice I didn't say urine. Whoops, there I just did.
  11. Indoor stadium. It's at Wrigley. Yeah, they built a dome. :pig: hahAHAH! I found an appropriate place to use that emote!
  12. Unfortunately the rest of the game was like a punch in the gut. watch the whole thing, though I will tonight after I get off work.

How many of these guys do we really want in there anyway? Palmiero? Let guys like him pile up outside the door all day, doesn't bother me any. And as for Clemens & Bonds, the funny thing about them is, all they would have had to do is simply acknowledge their mistake. People would forgive. Because people *always* forgive. Same probably would have gone for Rose. ...well ok, unless you're Santo and you click your heels. Then CONDEMN AND DAMN YOU TO HELL.

  15. LOL, they can't even do a bench clearing brawl right.
  16. Unfortunately the rest of the game was like a punch in the gut.
  17. He's going to get plenty of opportunity to play now.
  18. And fat. Don't forget fat. I was thinking he looks like some really bad Billy Idol wannabe. I'd punch him too, just on principle. 8-)
  19. True. Lots of people do this for day games too though. It's generally not a pretty picture after the games anyway if you ask me :D Then again, actually *having* tons of fans to come together with around your favorite baseball team is a great thing. Think about the scene after a typical Marlins game (*crickets*). I don't think there's much advantage or disadvantage to playing day vs. night games, either for the Cubs or for our opponents. You're a professional baseball player -- you work your schedule so you are rested and can play 100%, or else you're not all that great a player. That's how I see it.
  20. We need to figure out how to hit this bozo.
  21. 125 and 118 pitches his 2 previous starts Again, there was no reason for Lou to make Z throw in the 8th last week in Milwaukee. We had a 7 run lead and a rested bullpen. I couldnt believe after 125 pitches in his last start, he made Z go out for another inning in a blowout after throwing like 103 through 7 innings. We almost lost yesterday partially because of it. I assume Gaudin would still have been in there for the 8th inning regardless, because Z's pitch count was getting pretty high early. So I don't think it had much to do with us giving up the lead. By way of comparison, there's no doubt Dusty would just let Z pitch 120+ every time out for the rest of the season. So at least Lou keeps in mind the wear & tear and tries to take action to limit the damage. That's more than I can say for some other managers in this league.
  22. Hey, you just un-pessimistically assumed the Cubs were making the playoffs!! hahahahhahahaha i caught you Been reading a lot of self-help books. Real positive-reinforcement stuff
  23. Of course he told his guy to do it. It just makes it that much worse when you try to deny it. That goes for Yost too.
  24. Yes, I believe they are. And yes, you can bet your bottom dollar they'll be wheeling out the goats again
