  1. Just got back from the game. A win is a win. Kind of frustrating to stop scoring after the 3rd inning though. But oh well. Kinda rainy and dreary all day. Oh well.
  2. I'm looking forward to watching the starters. I'm done when the backups come in though. should be 3 quarters. I'll be there. I'm in town for Cub games anyway. I'm not expecting much either, but the way things are looking this might be only chance to go to soldier field this year so I figure what the heck.
  3. Usually keep 6 WRs right? Davis, Hester, Lloyd, Bennett are the locks. I'm assuming Hass is the 5th if Booker or Bradley could lose out on a spot. They're keeping 4 RB's probably though. The reports are that there will be 5 WR's, and that either Booker or Bradley will get that spot. I haven't even heard Hass in the discussion. I don't know why they'd keep Booker over Bradley if they think Bradley is healthy...why not see what you have with him? Which RB gets the axe? Have you heard anything on that? I've heard something pretty scary, but it was just speculation.
  4. :rotfl: Seriously. What the hell is that? The "my wife just served me divorce papers and now I've got to take a picture" smile?
  5. So you're telling me there's a chance! I love that we (and the players, it seems) expect to win every night. That's the way it should be. So, Ted, you're due for a good outing. Make it happen. Ted Lilly has looked good in his last couple outings I'm pretty sure, 3 August starts: 2-0 record 6.1 IP, 1 ER, 5 K's, 6 H's, 3 BB's 7.1 IP, 2 ER, 4 K's, 7 H's, 2 BB's 6.0 IP, 4 ER, 8 K's, 8 H's, 2 BB's and ONLY 2 HR's in those 3 starts =D> So if he follows the pattern, he'll go 7.0 IP 8 ER, 7K's, 9H's 3 BB's No, it resets to zero after 4 :)
  6. 13-3, Super Bowl. YES THAT'S RIGHT YOU JUST READ THAT.
  7. :rotfl: :rotfl: I can't caption it. It says everything with no words at all.
  8. The Cardinals are 10 games behind us in the loss column. We can finish a game below 500 the rest of the way(18-19) and the Cards need to go 25-10 just to tie us. If we close at our current pace(we'll round down and say 22-15) the Cardinals need to go 29-6 just to tie. The Cardinals have as much chance at catching us as the Astros do. Umm, I was talking Wild Card. I KNOW that St Louis has very little chance - if any - of catching us [unless we inexplicably choke even harder than the 2007 Mets], but between MIL/StL/PHI/FLA (& AZ if LAD wins West), I'd rather see StL come out of that pack as the 4th playoff team. And even so, if its during the last series vs them (9/19-21 @ Wrigley) and it means the Cards winning the WC spot or us clinching the division & HFA sooner, I'll root for the Cubs first hands down. You did say that you didn't want to root for the Cardinals "at the expense of the Cubs' own division & HFA clinching aspirations." And then pointed out that we have 6 games left with them. That would seem to imply to the reader that you think the Cards do have a chance of catching us for the division. That's what SSR was replying to... It's true, the Cards winning the WC would be best. I just can't bring myself to root for them. I can't do it. Besides, let's keep the Cards at 10 back, get the Brewers to 10 back, then have the Cards win the WC by a game over the Brewers late in the season by backing into it --- both around 10 back! As you can tell, I rather like the idea of "10 back" :)
  9. He's probably saying to himself, "hell no I'm not blowing out my arm for this guy."
  10. If he's asking for a trade that's one thing, but he's still attending practices right? If so, then I wouldn't put as much stock in it until he decides to take that next step and leave the team. The Cards apparently are saying they aren't trading him. So I don't know. I usually dismiss stuff like this if the player is still attending team functions.
  11. This is not the same Bronson Arroyo we once knew: 5.51 ERA / 82 ERA+ / 1.517 WHIP (!)
  12. Molina dumb decision to load them, then he drops the ball and a run scores. Not a good inning for Yada.
  13. Wow, ultra-[expletive] move by Molina. Bases juiced nobody out in St.Lou.
  14. Hawkins with the 1-2-3. Crew will have one more chance. That St.L game is ultra-tight.
  15. Purely FBs from what I can see.
  16. *clicks channel* LaTroy? Wow.
  17. HE LIVES?!? "You're dead!! I killed you! I WATCHED YOU DIE!"
  18. Yes Bob, W/L is ultimately what matters but the question is how do you get more W's? And that's where stats come in buddy.
  19. Personally I'm glad Sori ran through the sign. It wasn't going to be a serious play.
  20. That's didn't happen. Lee can't have just missed that 85 MPH meatball right down the middle.
  21. Shouse took advantage of the L/L matchup though. 2 out, nother stros lefty up.
