  1. I think Weis deserves another shot at some point. Yes, he didn't get it done, but I think it likely that many who would fail at ND could be solid in another situation, perhaps with the benefit of the perspective and experienced gained at ND. Especially when it was his first shot. I still view him as HC potential.
  2. Everyone's wondering about that, so no I don't think you're close to the only one thinking it. But Lovie did make comments earlier about how beating the Lions & Vikings are just as important as beating GB, backing off his previous "beat GB at all costs" position. Play them or don't play them, which should we choose?!? We do this every year with teams, and it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. There's no actual answer to the question, it's just something fans can beat their heads against a brick wall on for a couple weeks if they are so inclined, until the actual playoff games begin.
  3. It hasn't been brought up at all. If he's mentioned for a head coaching gig, I think he'd obviously be receptive towards that. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure he'll be around next year. The reason I'm asking, is his name is being tossed around Cowboy circles as a possible DC for the Cowboys if Garrett gets the job. He was Garrett's choice when he interviewed for the Baltimore position. Now, I'm not saying he would leave Green Bay, but Jones is known to overpay if it's someone he wants. I also know if he's under contract, Dallas can't talk to him without permission. I was just wondering if his contract was up or would he be out of the question. no offense, vance, but that's a dallas crack-pipe dream. It may be, but if his contract expires, Dallas could interview him. While he might prefer GB, I'm fairly certain Jerry will pay more than GB and probably add Asst HC to his title. It's also true that Garrett wanted Capers as his DC had he taken the Baltimore job. He turned that down and GB ended up hiring Capers. Capers contract according to sources ends at the end of the season. When that happens, Dallas would be free to interview him, even if it is a lateral move. Now, I have no way of knowing whether Capers would be interested or not. Neither does anyone else without personal connection to him. There's always Marvin Lewis, who will undoubtedly be available and I think should still be very good as DC. I can't find anything definitive on Capers' situation. So I guess it really is just an open question. --and one that is unlikely to be addressed seriously by Capers until the Packers are out of the playoffs.
  4. He'll pull it together in the 2nd half at the FT line.
  5. I want Noah back sooner. Miracle cure please.
  6. I didn't. But I guess once you accepted it was going to be a disaster, it comes down to which of the dogs would jump up and have a decent day. BTW - congrats to TCU. Can we have a playoff system please?
  7. Starting to not look so good for Bucky.
  8. I could easily see radio in Chicago being a better gig than TV in Arizona. Any media gig in Chicago has to be better than anything in Arizona. Half the people in Arizona look to other cities for their sports anyway.
  9. Yeah blow your tackles and you can pretty much forget it, Badgers.
  10. Great game so far.
  11. I'm surprised at the passing success of Wisconsin, but I still think they need to be running right at TCU more.
  12. See, don't throw. You suck at it.
  13. Nope. Didn't get it. Wisconsin really can't afford not to score on drives.
  14. Other than Watt grabbing a couple timely turnovers, I'm not seeing how. They've faced this general type of spread offense before, but none of those teams are nearly this good at it. They need to run the ball a whole bunch more, keep Dalton & crew off the field as much as possible.
  15. OK who took the under?
  16. Grab a QB from any old place. Teach him to understand he's in no way the most important part of the offense. Then find the biggest farm boys you can, feed them a steady diet of Wisconsin beef & cheese, and run the damn ball. That's the Badgers.
  17. Badgers show they can toss the ball a little as well. Good game early on, this is great.
  18. it certainly took someone long enough to do it. He'll get one game on Minny's 53-man, and then his future will be fairly uncertain. There's going to be a lot of turnover on that team between now and the opening of camp next Summer, in all likelihood.
  19. Great drive by TCU. That's a bad omen for the Badgers. Other than Watt they looked like they just couldn't handle all the options TCU throws out there.
  20. TCU's band does the national anthem. TCU's coach gets the interview. Some Texas chick calls the toss. This is going to be one big TCU stroke session from start to finish, isn't it.
  21. Yeah this is pathetic. Only Illinios & Iowa earlier prevent the complete eggwash.
  22. It's terrible. For all of the stories about Gruden being a hard ass, he just fellates everyone as an analyst. It's sickening. I used to like Tirico too before he became the PBP guy for MNF. Either he's gotten much worse or I just think less of him for the job he does every Monday night. Gruden is bringing everyone down. I still like Tirico but Gruden is the worst. And Jaws has his place but he also can't be counted on to be critical.
  23. Early day entertainment in the outback bowl. Good to have at least one close game.
  24. Whatever they do, I would prefer it if success proves to be elusive. ;)
