  1. Well, it's official soccer. Cable not returning to Oakland. Now Al is free to hire an awesome coach, right?
  2. Go for the TD. One play.
  3. If Mallet can read NFL defenses, I don't see how he'll be stopped. Is he still growing? When I see him I feel like he's impossibly tall. But then again, there are guys who look so damn good, and then just suck at the next level.
  4. Because the Eagles offense(and the team as a whole) were terrible before Vick came along? I never said that.
  5. Vick's not going to just power them to a Super Bowl on his own. They're going to need to step up the defensive effort and McCoy is going to have to look like a good option to take the pressure off. Plus if someone hits Vick like the Vikings did, get him limping around -- there goes the offense. It's too much on one guy. I think (hope) they get it done for one week against the Packers, but I can't see them riding the Vick express all the way.
  6. What Peter King predicts doesn't constitute "bad news" for Bears fans. It does constitute a wild guess by yet another prognosticator. But it isn't news.
  7. Jets just can't rush the passer. I'm just not sure how they stop Manning if he's sitting back there with all day to pick out a receiver. I know he avoids the rush well too, but I still think you need to at least make him move a little or try to disturb his rhythm. Jets can't do that this year. I've got the Colts in that game. I could see the Chiefs winning. We'll see.
  8. Who the heck is going to give up a second round pick for a back up quarterback? Well, they can ask... :)
  9. New Orleans lost to 3 non-playoff teams, and beat 5 non-playoff teams by less than a touchdown. They beat Seattle by 15 at the dome, and home field is typically worth about a FG or so(plus Qwest is one of the biggest HFA). This is the NFL, random results are the norm. I respect those points. To me, Seattle is one of the worst teams in the NFL and the Saints are one of the best. This will be a playoff game, so NO is going to go all out, which might not have happened in their regular season meeting. Seattle is going to go all out too but is much much less talented than NO. If the Pats could be more than 10.5 point underdogs in the Super Bowl against the Rams in 2001, I don't see why the defending champions should only be favored by 10.5 points against one of the worst teams in the league, regardless of whether they are playing at home. I'll be cheering for the Seahawks though of course. If a miracle happens and the Hawks lose, I become the biggest Packer fan in the world. You mean if the Saints become the Aints again :) If that happens, I might have to muster me up some GB temporary love too.
  10. They were looking closer to it than I would have guessed, enough that I learned a few minutes ago that the singer is 45 Hah -- I was kind of thinking the same.
  11. Goo Goo Dolls: sorry, you aren't ancient enough for the Super Bowl yet.
  12. Excellent point. I actually like Del Rio staying. With him, I think their ceiling is decent team that's no threat to crack the top two consistently (Indy/Ten). It's a move to the status quo, which seems odd to me. They need to make a splash, do something to make people care. Or just move to LA, which is what they really should be doing.
  13. The talk was how Bulaga's going to be a great OL in spite of the screw up. Basically the usual blah-blah.
  14. I don't know, I kind of love hearing how amazing every individual person is at football after every play. They hired that clown because he had edge, dammit. He's a wet sock. He's going to cloy me to death, I swear it.
  15. I'm guessing you aren't even close to alone, even among NFL fans.
  16. They're like the team that the world forgot or something. It's like they play in the league, they actually win a fair number of games. Everyone tries their best to ignore them. They need to move to a relevant market.
  17. McCarthy being fired was always just fan frustration, yes. Sure, if they would have put up a 3-13 season then anything would be on the table. But they didn't. They struggled through an enormous number of injuries and still made it. He's boneheaded sometimes, no question. But his job is secure right now.
  18. LOL. Lordy.
  19. Maybe they shouldn't. Just playing devil's advocate here -- if Angelo sucks at OLine eval, then having him pick a bunch of OLine guys might be playing to his weakness, which would equal more busts. I think Angelo needs an offensive talent eval guy to feed him the right picks on the offensive side of the ball. Call him the GM version of Martz, to Angelo's Lovie.
  20. I guess only Bears players could tell you if they were really giving 100%. And they would probably never say so if they weren't. I'm just going to wait 2 weeks and watch the team, see what happens.
  21. Then we're talking Packers/Falcons in the Georgia dome, and that's a great matchup.
  22. Schefter's saying it'll be San Fran or Michigan for Harbaugh. Interesting... I think I'd go Michigan.
  23. Just depends on Vick, really. If he can move around, run the ball, do his thing -- I think the Eagles have a good shot. If not, then the Eagles scoring just disappears and they look very average. I'm also not really sold on their defense after watching them struggle to stop Webb. I think the Eagles get it done, but I'm not very confident in the pick.
  24. I would be floored, but it's the NFL. My predictions on what will happen in this league just flat out suck.
  25. Lol come on man. Ball's right there make the damn catch
