  1. Think about if Jeffrey keeps his weight under control (which he will, period). Cutler now has two top, big targets who can go get the ball.
  2. I feel much better about rounds 2 and 3 than our top pick, actually.
  3. I could've used a bit of a break before talking Blackhawks again. But you go for it, if you want to.
  4. Following that philosophy, the mound would be empty.
  5. If we liked McClellin that much, then I wonder if Emery explored trading down a few spots for him. Reaction to the pick is all over the map. People just don't a very solid read on what will happen with this guy. He could wind up anywhere, including on the list of 1st round busts. I doubt he displaces Izzy year one. It's not the same player, and Lovie is still coaching this defense. Does this pick mean anything in terms of Lovie? I'm excited for the next couple rounds, but I think Emery needs to now settle down and pick a solid player that makes sense for the position he is taken. He's gotten our attention. Now draft a good value pick or two.
  6. Yes, and Vrabel was selected more in the area where I would have expected. I don't hate the player, I dislike the pick. Obviously I hope McClellin becomes a fantastic Bear.
  7. My first reaction: bad pick. He doesn't seem strong enough to anchor the DE full time. He'll have to come in on passing downs. So he's a pass rush specialist at best. That doesn't smell like first round to me. More like 3rd. So maybe he has great athletic talent. Cool. So do a lot of other guys. I hope he works out as a player for us. Even if he does, he still shouldn't have been taken this high.
  8. That'll do it.
  9. This is insane.
  10. Smith has been incredible.
  11. sorry, not falling for the ploy to turn one Cub player against another just to prove some bizarre point.
  12. It's very google-able.
  13. I'm not even sure what I would do if that happened.
  14. Worry about that if we ever get to that point. I'd rather watch the Canucks fail hilariously than have a slightly better chance of getting to the WCF. Yeah it's just too much fun to watch them lose. Especially as a 1 seed, and only taking 1 game. http://p.twimg.com/ArKz1SeCQAIDa8P.jpg
  15. Eh? They're already blowing it up as fast as they can. What would even more suckage produce?
  16. Metta whut?
  17. The answer is apparently no: http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2012/04/22/no-surprise-blackhawks-rule-out-marian-hossa-for-game-6/related/
  18. That's a nice thing to say, but much as I dislike the meatball population, they are a component of the buying public. And they're already not very happy. I think the empty seats around home plate are an adequate demonstration of that. Think about how things will be if we aren't in 2012, but 2014, and still not close to a division title.... I'm not among them, but Theo & company need to be concerned not only with those who understand what they are trying to do, but also with those who don't care about a master plan, and want to always win now. It's not an easy job, this thing Theo & his crew have taken on. It might not be clear right now. Give it a year or two, and without a quality competitor.......things will get very uncomfortable around here.
  19. All I know is there were a lot of empty seats today, in prime locations. I'm all for building this team up from scratch, but there's no doubt many fans are choosing to do other things rather than go down to Wrigley. Whether they are selling those tix or just eating the cost, I don't know. I'm sure the cold weather has had something to do with it as well.
  20. Agreed, I thought he might a few months ago. There are plenty of players out there, 19 isn't a bad position at all to see a guy like Floyd drop down.
  21. Thank God Hawk wasnt able to annoyingly call the game with his incessant screaming Absolutely. He'll probably take to the talk radio circuit this week to make up for it.
  22. Whenever someone says this, I forget it's a shortened season and I think "hey that's not really that great." What would a 50 win season this year be equal to? A 60 win season?
  23. That's the way it usually is. Players drop, just happens.
