  1. Even with that map, I still can't explain why random Twins games will suddenly show up, or why sometimes the Brewer games that are on that WMLW channel are blacked out in Madison.....occasionally. I think the likely answer is, the league doesn't really have it nailed down 100% Anyway, I'm allowing myself to be pumped about Volstad tonight. And if he pitches well, I'll apply all kinds of irrational projections on how great a Cub he's going to be :)
  2. It's pretty arcane to me. I guess it depends on if you are considered the local market or not? Looks like I'm getting both the Brewers and ESPN tonight. I never get the WCIU feed, of course. But Madison is in this weird twilight zone. We're in the Brewers' market.....kind of.
  3. hehe, yeah I heard that. Good stuff.
  4. Yeah, the granny in '03 is in my top 5 moments as a Cub fan. Just bouncing off the walls with glee like a complete fool when he did that :) Anyone who boos Aramis tonight should lose his Cub fan card and be 86'd from any club within 2 miles of Wrigley.
  5. One thing's for sure. This will be a very interesting draft for us. Between the different directions we can take, and our new GM to make the decisions, this is the most excited I've been for a Bears draft in awhile.
  6. Thanks Starlin. Much appreciated
  7. 70 is where I had them in the beginning. I'll stick with that bucket.
  8. It says the poll runs until April 10th. I don't think there's going to be any appreciable additional info in 2 more early season days than there is right now to cast a definitive vote on his skills. Therefore, I voted yes. Because he's a cheap placeholder until our official run starts, which is what we should be doing since it's obvious we don't have an intention to win this year.
  9. It is? Terrible team sells high on a good reliever when he's about to become expensive...what's not to get? His comment only makes sense if one isn't conceeding the terrible team part.....yet.
  10. I'm happy we aren't playing Nashville though. I hate playing them.
  11. Go PHIL.
  12. So he wasn't asking for a ton of money. Not sure what happened here, but it feels like we blew it. Unless Okoye just didn't like it here.
  13. Bulls record in last 10 games: 7-3. Heat record in last 10 games: 6-4. OKC record in last 10 games: 6-4. To quote a meatball, "Not sayin', but just sayin'."
  14. Why bother even posting Sullivan's rantings...
  15. Sadly they stopped that segment a year ago I think. Now they just do 'come on man'. ESPN: We were for violence before we were against it. Now NFL Films needs to go back and edit all the times it glorified monster hits in a cinematically breathtaking manner. Instead of Butkus crushing somebody's spleen, they can show him leading a prayer. In related news, Butkus is now football's greatest monster for the jarring number of big hits that defined his career. "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"
  16. Do we know why Dwight wasn't interested in going to any of the good teams that were options, but was really excited to tank his career in NJ?
  17. $140 million seems pretty steep to demolish. But I'm not an expert, obviously.
  18. Maybe Rivers should let go of his brain once and for all.
  19. It's definitely got that ghosts-of-the-past vibe happening now. I don't think I'd want to wander those halls as a security guard or whatever... Demolish it. Re-purpose the land. Renew.
  20. Wow, Gio looks like an impressive young pitcher. I hope the A's got something in return for him. Unloading a lefty starter, when he's still 25 and on an upward trajectory?

Instead of Butkus crushing somebody's spleen, they can show him leading a prayer. No, that would take away the glory days of yore for guys like me. I need to be able to tell the younguns about the time when football was really cool. Aren't you jealous you were born too late?
  22. Words to live by.....words to live by... Hah, that's great.
  23. Huh. That was the very definition of conclusive if you ask me. *shrugs*
