They're trying to, but Hossa is put in the hospital with no penalty, and a key player is suspended for 3 games for trying to AVOID their goalie. At this point they're just trying to stay on the [expletive] ice.

Because they know Shanahan will suspend them for 5 games, and let the Yotes players go untouched. also because it's the playoffs, each game is really important and it's pretty damn stupid to keep running around trying to hurt the other team and putting your team shorthanded. yea, because there's no ground between doing stupid things and stepping up the physicality. Dude, what the hell do you expect after Shaw?

Because they know Shanahan will suspend them for 5 games, and let the Yotes players go untouched. that's an excuse. these guys have been soft for the last 2 seasons. is there any other team that lets that happen to their second best player in the postseason and doesn't even try to do anything about it? They're not a tough team, but Shanahan's message is very clear: if you're a Hawk, you better not do anything out of the ordinary.

Looked like they had everyone clustering to the front side and just forgot about Whitney at the back door, for the rebound. Anyway, doesn't matter. Just expect every game to go into OT, and win it there.

I heard on the radio that he can, but he's not allowed to play before the appeal is heard. Somebody was talking about appealing these on a NY station yesterday and the statement was made that the NHL may make life difficult for you if you try. what the hell kind of league is this anyway.

Once they let that first nonsense go with a measly fine, it was inevitably going to devolve into mayhem. These guys have heard nothing but "no head shots and no shenanigans" all season long, and the first thing that happens in the playoffs is it all gets thrown out the window, so let it rip. They'll probably use Shaw as an example to try to get it under control :(
