  1. Solution: don't score any more runs until the bottom of the 9th.
  2. He wasn't a terrible hitter before 28, so it's not like it came out of nowhere. He's been a good all-around player from 24 onwards. The OPS jump is pronounced starting in 2011. So what? It looks more unusual because of 2010, but other than that he was basically getting better as he got older. It's hardly unheard of. His career-high OPS shot up 100 points in 2011 after having already played six full big-league seasons. I'm thinking that's pretty unheard of. Maybe not unheard of, but I definitely want to know how he did it.

  4. He just wanted to. You need further justification for a St. Louis player? No, I've got a bunch of 27-year-olds in AAA who are dying to know.
  5. Can someone explain to me what suddenly happened at age 28 to turn Molina into a good hitter.
  6. Is the goal itself larger in international, or is it just the crease?
  7. If what Banedon posted is all that Shark said, then I don't see a problem.
  8. On the highlights, I thought Bolland totally threw his gloves off early. Now I think he kind of threw them off after they already got caught in the Boston player's pads.
  9. sweet, thanks for reminding me of that. perfect thing to jump to after the Bulls pick in the draft Yeah, it's winding down right now so if you're like me and missed the last half of the 3rd period, it's perfect.
  10. Watching the replay on CSN right now. I really do like Emrick. He's perfect for the sport, IMHO. For anyone heading downtown tomorrow, have fun. I really want to go, but just can't make it happen.
  11. I don't understand any of his gripes, including the pedestrian bridge. Plenty of hotels and businesses have those in place. It's about adding convenience, and hence value, to the property and the people who will spend money staying there. He's either trying to save face, or he's just crazy and should be steamrolled. It's time for a smackdown. And then let's all move on.
  12. Yeah, I don't think it has to do with which sport is better. It's about the simple fact that the Cubs suck right now, and the Hawks are great.
  13. Caught the very end when I landed in RI. Airport bar, full of Boston fans. I let out a shout when I saw the score and got the dirtiest looks you can believe. Spent way too much time watching highlights, now I'm working on about 4 hours sleep. Not too bad. This is incredible! 2 Cups in just a few years!
  14. Now with flight delays, I'll be watching whatever I can in airports. And it's Detroit too. Interesting :) DirecTV DVR set to record with an hour buffer!
  15. It's just my luck that for game 6, I'm traveling out for business. If I do catch some of the game, it will probably be late. And then, if there's a game 7? I'm traveling *back* from business on Wednesday. In 2010, I was on a plane when the Hawks won it. And I don't really travel that much.
  16. http://msn.foxsports.com/nhl/story/chicago-blackhawks-boston-bruins-key-injuries-jonathan-toews-patrice-bergeron-going-into-game-6-of-stanley-cup-final-062313 Julien doesn't even use the word "upper" anymore: The NHL & injuries is a fun exercise. After the finals, we'll supposedly find out what each team was really dealing with.
  17. So, here's another period where we just suck. Why?
  18. I think it's because, relatively speaking, the Bruins are actually a worthy opponent. The Wild, Wings, and Kings weren't really on this level for various reasons. Wild were just bad. Wings were a 7 seed that played over their head for 3 games. Kings were too banged up to really hang. Bruins are actually a threat. Doesn't mean they are better. But they belong here.
  19. I picked a smart girl, and now I'm starting to think it was a mistake.
  20. I think it's funny that Crawford's glove side is apparently the biggest story coming out of this game. It's news that Crawford isn't impenetrable? To me, the biggest story should be Boston's inability to snuff out Chicago's speed advantage, like they have before. I'm hoping it's because the Hawks figured something out -- and that this wasn't just an off night for the Bruins. Also, it was in Boston's building. As for Crawford: I believe all 5 of Boston's goals were high glove-side shots, right? It's not news that Crawford can be beat, but I don't think anyone has consistently beat him in a single place like that. Don't want to see that anymore, that's for sure.
  21. I have a couple of HS friends who live in Austin now. They both were quite pissed. Wow. For the record, I stepped out of the room for like 10 seconds and the game winner happened. I couldn't believe it, I was glued to the TV for the entire game and missed the game winner to toss a can in the recycle bin. doh!
  22. Have we really seen a weak glove hand from Crawford, consistently? I was confused by that. Doesn't seem to match up with what I've seen from him. Not that he's the world's greatest, but that was terrible.
  23. That quote was first response to second part of question. Seemed clear he wanted to to say the playing time was not health related. Right. Didn't see him do anything terrible. Nothing worse than the 5-6 horrible plays Keith made or the goal Oduya caused. I don't know. Everyone's "fine" right now. I wouldn't read too much into that. He must have been rattled or something. Q would be crazy to play most of a game without a man, with the season on the line. I don't buy it.
