  1. *knock on wood* has shark had a significant injury?
  2. Now he's literally mowing them down too
  3. Hawks should appeal the suspension to get it increased.
  4. I liked 3 of the first 5 picks.
  5. Well, I don't know much about him but the few scouting reports I just dug up are practically screaming noodle arm.
  6. Emery loves himself some rope-a-dope
  7. You know, this new draft schedule blows. I feel like I'm able to be more engaged for Saturday -- except now all the real action is over. I know it's not going to go back, but I for one don't like it.
  8. I just can't see that, not with an RB being the BPA target. And an RB who doesn't have any kind of special measurable, and has character issues Edit: whoops, I meant this to be a response to David, sorry So you think it was a need based pick? I'm not in love with taking an RB but I certainly don't think they're incompetent enough to reach on a guy to fill backup RB. I don't know, I'm sure Emery knows a lot more than I do, but what sticks out about Carey that you can't get after the draft? He seems like the kind of back the Packers pick up off the street every year when their RBs go down. I'm just not seeing it.

  10. Don't really like the Carey pick - they probably could have kept their picks and just taken Vereen there. I doubt Carey will provide value over a similar pick later in the draft or UDFA
  11. Thornton was a bigger reach than Ferguson. Other than that, yeah they're doing alright. Packers have drafted only Bahktiari, Cobb, Lacy and Hayward as guys that have contributed well in the last 3 drafts. Yeah, I'm not sure why the Packers have a reputation for drafting well. Just because they have a lot of guys they drafted on the roster doesn't mean they're actually good. Because they won the draft with the Rodgers pick, surely that must have been a Jedi mind trick
  12. Emery said he's not spending a low draft pick on a QB, fwiw. He said its a waste.
  13. Agreed, though I have no problem with the Bears drafting DeAnthony Thomas because he's not a RB in the NFL. WR/punt returner. I wouldn't go quite that far. If the guy has exceptional skills, yeah I'd be OK with it. I would almost always be upset spending a high pick there, though. If they draft one today? Maybe. I don't see much difference between the RBs who will go in rounds 4-7 and UDFA today. Maybe a couple with some special specific skills, but otherwise you might as well use the pick elsewhere. Yea, if that's the case then I agree.
  14. I'm actually a fair bit concerned now. Yes, we've got home ice and I expected the Hawks to lose a game up there. But I didn't expect to see them get plastered on shots, and then see the Wild's goaltending somehow look competent as a result. I don't like seeing them sleepwalk through perfectly good playoff games, and I don't like them giving a downtrodden goalie confidence. Hawks just did both of those things.

  16. Sharp simply can't miss on that break. All he has to do is elevate slightly. He just blew it.

  18. Like it matters, they won't score anyways They slept on the flight up to Minny, and just never woke up.
  19. I expect he'll set up a special video screen in his living room one day, and just have that playing on an endless loop.
  20. No Also no Well, they've more than doubled us in SOG as of now. They are definitely way more active in putting the puck on net. Maybe that doesn't equal "faster and better than us" but it can certainly add up to another Hawks loss unless we wake the [expletive] up.
  21. FWIW, walterfootball has them graded right about the same.
  22. Not a fan of the Ego pick. I assume there's information on Nix's knee that is not favorable.
  23. So, nickel CB this season, starter next season.
  24. Do they have 1 safety on their roster that would start on any other team in the NFL right now? Well Mundy started all last year for NYG and MD started all last year for GB. now i'm not arguing either is the answer long-term for the Bears, but I answered your question. That was last year, and they both got extremely low contracts Mundy (2/$3 with $800k guaranteed) and Jennings (1/$745k with $0 guaranteed) meaning that basically no one else wanted them, particularly Jennings who took $0 guaranteed. Both of those defenses were pretty weak last year (Giants 18, Packers 25--per pro football reference). Again, Fuller will be fine, I just don't see how they could have passed on a first round Safety with this group of safeties on their roster. Yeah, I can't pretend to know Emery's thought processes, but I assume the reason is something along the lines of really feeling like Fuller is going to be special, and also knowing that Tillman's just about gone, and knowing how important Tillman has been to the success of the defense -- they jumped at the chance to draft his replacement, and are convinced it will work out that way. Probably thought one of the other safeties would drop to the 2nd round, too. Remember -- there were 4 safeties drafted after the Bears. I'm betting that was somewhat of a surprise to them. So they took a gamble on that, and it didn't work out. Still doesn't mean they shouldn't have drafted Fuller to me, though. If this is the guy you think will cornerstone the DB group for many years to come, and you really feel he's going to be special. Yes, you go for it.
