Everybody predicted Fox to the Bears once he was gone from Denver. Everybody predicted Trestman was gone. These guys were wishy washy on Emery whenever I listened and then acted as though they knew it was coming all along. This Fox hiring actually goes against everything they said after the firings. They were saying forget about next year. Forget about the next couple years. This isn't about the short-term. Hiring an old man with quick turnaround histories is all about the short-term. This is an investment in the now, which refutes everything the "do it the right way" Bernstein has been on about. I love Boers and Bernstein, but they were positive on the Trestman hire clear up until things started going sideways this year, calling his offense a "real offense". They were ok with Emery, too. Maybe that's to their benefit, giving the guys a chance until it's obvious they aren't competent, but clearly B and B aren't right about everything or even most things. I might buy that, but the whole time they take calls to berate anyone who disagrees. Then their viewpoint turns out wrong and suddenly they move on. I understand their job is to entertain and they do it well. But both of them are no more knowledgeable than other sports radio hosts.
