  1. I don’t think there’s any question the Bears will need to win with D, and that Trubisky is an average QB. Sucks, but true. If you are looking for a silver lining (which I am), the Packers are a Fuller INT and a missed XP FG away from 0-2. And at home.
  2. Crew blew a chance today but when I look at their remaining schedule it’s a lot of riff raff I expect we’ll need to play decent the rest of the way or it’s WC play-in
  3. Buh??
  4. We’ll win this one. No doubt at all.
  5. Vikings can’t do diddly, after a few nice plays. Now I feel better...slightly
  6. Forfeit a game. The day off would be worth it.
  7. I remember being excited when we signed Murphy. I take it back.
  8. They’re jumping on a plane right now heading into a hurricane. Yeah.
  9. Let’s be honest the Cubs have been extremely lucky in the second half. They have a negative run differential over a 60 game stretch. They have not played consistently good baseball and they have been an average team at best in the second half You keep saying this, but it's cherry picked and doesn't mean much. Our RD for the whole season is over +100. We had a bad week or two of RD right out of the break, then we played well for awhile, and now we've had a bad RD stretch the past week. Extend the time frame more or cut it smaller and you can make it say whatever you want. The Cubs are good. They've played well over the course of the season. No amount of SSS cherry-picking is going to change the fact that this is a mid-90 win team. They’re not good man. It’s been a weird season. I’m trusting my eyes right now. I see a mediocre team. What do you see, just separate from the stats? It’s incredibly frustrating

  11. I always thought it was weird that the cubs had the best record in the National League. Key injuries combined with top players who are underperforming and a starting pitching staff that just got its act together after the All-Star break. A bullpen that’s pretty much completely collapsed. It would be nice if the Cubs won the wildcard game and got to a real playoff series but I can’t see it going any further than that.
  12. Holy horsefeathers this is ridiculous!!
  13. I watched the Weather Channel this morning and it looks like the storm is veering South a little bit. My co-workers in Baltimore all switched their flights out of DC from Thursday to Wednesday though. So if the Cubs are flying into DC on Thursday they’ll be heading the wrong way :)
  14. Furthermore!! It’s two teams. We’re as good as passed by the Brewers. We have a 1 game lead on the Brewers. That is a fact. There is no possible scenario where we do not currently have a lead over the Brewers. Jeebs I suck at humor that was supposed to end the discussion on a lighthearted note.
  15. I know what I’m seeing. You do too. Weren’t we over 90% to win the division a few games back? Quit with the “doom boner” crap. It got old years ago. Finally, I said possibly. And it is possible. Don't shake a doom boner in my face and tell me its raining, son. Furthermore!! It’s two teams. We’re as good as passed by the Brewers.
  16. Reality. You realize that THREE teams would have to pass us in the standings for that to happen, right? Fangraphs has us as 99.9% to make the playoffs. Your doom boner is based on a mythical situation. A boom boner based on DVDA fantasies. Reality has nothing to do with it. I know what I’m seeing. You do too. Weren’t we over 90% to win the division a few games back? Quit with the “doom boner” crap. It got old years ago. Finally, I said possibly. And it is possible.
  17. I was making an effort to not respond to the insane level of doom bonering, but this one broke me. What on Earth are you talking about?!?! Reality.
  18. It’s hard to believe, but there’s a possibility the Cubs go from having the best record in the National League for most of the year to out of the playoffs.
  19. Florence is now a cat 4 hurricane. It's going to at least drop a steady rain all day Thursday, potentially heavy rain and/or wind. The Nats are on a road trip all week, going from PHI to ATL. We're talking about flying two teams into a hurricane or tropical storm zone, playing a game in a downpour, then trying to fly them out in possibly dangerous conditions so they don't have to miss their next games. Not going to happen. I don't know what they are going to do, but there won't be a baseball game in DC on Thursday.
  20. I saw the “new” Bears for 30 minutes and then the old Bears the last 30 minutes. Terrible loss but they have to regroup. Nagy can’t let this define the entire season. Deal with it and move on folks.
  21. Not looking so great there either
