  1. Ummmm, I think he gets guaranteed to be top 5 salary at his position. Then if anyone wants him, they must send 2 1st round picks our way. I know Angelo doesn't like the franchise tag, but I would seriously seriously consider it in this case. Briggs is extremely good, and he's as good as gone after the season.
  2. So much for the flex schedule. This Sunday night game is going to be bad. Maybe I'll pop in a movie.
  3. Amen. Also, go Florida. Judging by the newly released BCS rankings, Florida *may* be able to jump over Michigan with a win over Arkansas and of course a USC loss to UCLA. That's another reason why I don't like those playoff games. That extra game can give a team an advantage over one that just plays 12 games. Of course it can bite them too for example if Florida loses. Yeah I don't like that either. IMO Michigan is significantly better than Florida. Sorry CR, but your Bruins don't have one prayer in hell of beating USC----even though I would love to see it.
  4. Can you explain why he won't be around next year for those of us who don't follow the Bears as close as you do? Negotiations broke down after he stood by his demands for Urlacher money. I know it's unlikely that he'll be retained, but does the fact that negotiations brokedown mean that they can't resolve their differences and come back to the table and iron out a contract? I'm not asking to be a smart butt (well kinda, maybe? :P ), but I didn't follow the media regarding the situation so I don't if the negotiations were particularly contentious . It's Rosenhaus. And Rosenhaus has said it will take Urlacher money. Briggs is certainly turning in the kind of year that will have many teams salivating at making him the center-point of their LB corps.

Yes, and I would add that Angelo has said there won't be a bigger offer forthcoming (biggest was $5.5mil/yr IIRC). And given the other players who need to be signed, most of the so-called Chicago Bears "experts" have speculated that the Bears will not have the freedom under the cap to keep Briggs.
  6. No. Just want to see better accuracy and fewer interceptions, that's all.
  7. Just watching Briggs being interviewed on Comcast. It's really hard to accept that he isn't going to be a Bear next year. That man IS a Bear, through and through. Seeing him play for another club next year is going to be like watching your wife get borked by another man.
  8. At this stage, block better and become a better rec. out of the backfield. Imo, he's a better blocker than Jones already. At contact, they're pretty close, as far as knowing which guy to pick up and when to chip a guy, I think Jones has a better concept when to leak out of the backfield. I agree that Jones has a better concept of what to do...but his execution is lacking compared to Benson and Benson is starting to pick up the intricacies a lot more. Jones will never run over a safety like Benson did on that one run. Benson appears to have more burst coming through the line too. Jones is shifty, but he has never had a 2nd gear. IMO, the quicker we can go 100% Benson, the better we are going to be in the running game. No offense to TJ because I appreciate what he has done, but Benson is the superior back.
  9. The schedule looks very favorable for us here on out. It's: Vikes Rams (road) Bucs Lions (road) Packers I just hope a game like this doesn't carry over. Because the game was there to win, we just didn't get it done. In one sense, I'm happy we were able to trade blows with the Pats on the road and only get beat by 4. On the other hand though, it's really tough to lose when you know you could win it. And I sooooo wanted Rex to perform and shut up Joe Buck and his army of Bear-haters. But it just didn't happen.
  10. If you thought the Rex bashing has been bad, wait until this week. It hasn't even started.
  11. Yeah, I would have to agree. Let the Griese talk begin. If Rex sucks again against the Vikings, Lovie's going to have to make a decision. It's been weeks now since Rex had a real good game.
  12. I Dont Know. It was open too. Terrible throw by Rex. He has been terribly off target for weeks now. I think we're in trouble down the road.
  13. Man that was just stupid. I want to like Rex, but that's unbelievably RIDICULOUSLY STUPID.
  14. Dillon doing his best to hand the game to us. Too bad we'll never be able to drive for the TD.
  15. I'm not convinced the Bears are even going to the Super Bowl. But yeah you are right that's what we will hear.
  16. why? the bears have nothing to be ashamed of today. the pats are frickn good. they are bringing their best and the bears are right their Ok, he doesn't. But his in-game coaching decisions are ridiculously poor. In fairness Lovie didn't expect his defense to lay a big stinking turd on two huge drives today. This D has problems of its own. It's not just Rex Grossman and the offense.
  17. I don't see how that's a bad decision. It wasn't 4th and short. If your defense can't get a stop here you don't deserve to win anyway. W/out an onside kick, there isn't enough time for them to do it. We had 2 timeouts.....but doesn't matter anyway because our DLine decided not to show up on pass plays today.
  18. I don't see how that's a bad decision. It wasn't 4th and short. If your defense can't get a stop here you don't deserve to win anyway.
  19. You wanna be big time? Gotta man up here and get the ball back.
  20. I don't understand Aikman. That's obviously, obviously pass interference. What game is he watching anyway? Probably the one in his head where his most hated team the Bears always loses.
  21. That's been happening more often lately. Maybe if the offense wasn't always giving away points, every series wouldn't be so crucial. Offense had nothing to do with them being able to stuff it down their throats on that drive. But, had we not turned it over what three times when we should have scored that series wouldn't have mattered that much. I agree, but we knew going in to the season the offense would not be a strength. Can't expect them to be perfect now. The D has to carry this team----it was always going to be great D or bust.
  22. That's been happening more often lately.
  23. That's why Benson is better on the goal line than Jones. Although that was a pretty good hole.
