  1. I was wondering the same thing. I thought he was supposed to be signed by Monday? I'm also suprised this thing hasn't been confirmed yet.
  2. Please forget about any notions of DeRosa and just sign Giles, Jim. Thanks. Call me if you have any further questions.
  3. Then according to Chris Carpenter's "past performances", http://www.baseball-reference.com/c/carpech01.shtml he would had continue to be a talented, but crappy pitchers. "Past performances" is not the best predictor, because doesn't take into account different variables. It's a definition. You cannot predict by things that have not happened yet. I think what you mean is that there are things beyond stats that can be used to predict, but those are most assuredly still past performance. There is quite literally nothing aside from past performance and wholely irrational beliefs that can be used to predict future performance upside? tools? makeup? what do your base them on? your crazy imagination, or his past performance? What if you're a scout, and a guy has great past numbers, but you go out and see him play somewhere and talk to him and it becomes painfully obvious the man has suffered a mental collapse? Do you still sign him because of his past performance? Or let's say there's a guy who has been pretty mediocre all his minor league career, and you visit him, ask him to get an eye test and he comes back with 20/200 vision? Do you write him off because of past performance?
  4. No, actually I'm not nauseated by it. I would be if I didn't think they're legit. But I do. That was a huge road win Sunday. NO is definitely a legitimate contender.
  5. I'd be fine if he sat out again. TB isn't going to be a passing threat. The Bears are going to get to Gradkowski and cause more turnovers this week. Agreed. St. Louis was the last challenging game on our schedule. Let Vasher get to 100%. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Hester get a few more snaps at nickel back to begin developing him a little bit. It has become painfully obvious how thin our CB corps are. One injury and we're doing crazy stuff like attempting to have Hillenmeyer cover in nickel situations. No good. Get Hester some experience these last 3 games.
  6. I was wrong about this game. Well---what I thought would happen, happened but only in the first half. After that, I completely underestimated that Rex would continue to make great check-downs, that Turner would call a very, very good game (SCREEN PASSES!!!!! :D :D ) and of course that Devin Hester would just take the Rams over his knee and spank them like a group of schoolgirls 8-) People are making a big deal over the Rams scoring 27 points. The last touchdown was against a prevent, and they racked up alot of yards just throwing short passes while our defenders were simply playing "no big plays." But yea, the defense looked predictably less effective. You can't lose 2 pro bowlers in one week and suffer no effects.
  7. Great play by Tillman. He's having a solid year to date.
  8. Honestly unless we win the NFC championship those defensive stats mean nothing. I know. Actually, maybe some more teams will underestimate us because of it.
  9. What sucks is all this garbage time yardage is really going to hurt the Bears Defensive stats.
  10. Hit him too high: penalty. Hit him too low: penalty. Except if the refs don't feel like it. Gotta love these rules! :x
  11. Game's over, so now the refs decide there's no reason to let the holding go anymore.
  12. Linehan's a PUNK. Whip the passing game back out. You wanna play punk? Let's play.
  13. is that sarcasm? He hit the hell out of his head. No its not sarcasm. He hit him in the shoulder his helmet didnt touch the Rams WR helmet. You must've missed the replay then. No the first replays they showed I thought he hit him in the helmet. But when they showed the side view it showed he didnt touch his helmet. Agreed. Side view showed it never actually made contact. But he did still lead with the head.
  14. BOOOOOO Linehan. Come on quit calling timeouts. Admit you lost.
  15. He has been outstanding this season. That drive should have ended, but [expletive] rules kept it alive. I disagree. I'm very underwhelmed by his play -- his tackling in particular. Look, you're in the end zone. Bulger is flushed. You need to be looking for the ball, not just staring at the receiver. I also think Till has been pretty solid this year. It's like he needs to be perfect or he gets criticized. Vasher's been burned this year too, but nobody says a word.
  16. LMAO. Devin Hester. Best 2nd round pick EVER. I LOVE YOU MAN!!
  17. The refs just kept roughly 2 million viewers from changing the channel. That's what this is about. Keep it close, milk a few more dollars out for the advertisers.
  18. Made 'em run like 5 minutes off the clock, right? That's the plan.
  19. Anderson didnt go after the head on purpose. And Theisman made it out to be alot worse than it actually was. He didn't even hit the head first, as opposed to what Theisman said. Just a horrid penalty, protecting the QB has gone too far. Seriously. Anderson had no other way to get the quarterback. What's he supposed to do, just miss him so he doesn't get a penalty. It's gotten insane. I know. For God's sake, it's gotten to the point where a defender must choose between getting fired for letting a big pass be completed, or get penalized and fined for tackling the QB. Hmmmm. Work at McDonald's. Get a 15 yard penalty. Sell home electronics. Yellow flag. Decisions decisions.
  20. Yep. This league doesn't want defensive stops. Most certainly not when they know damn well millions of people are reaching for their channel changers to catch the beginning of Jay Leno.
  21. Looked to me like Urlacher knocked it out. Good defense by lach.
  22. Ignore the penalties. Just take his damn head off next time. These rules are stupid. If you're going to get a penalty, get your money's worth. Better than giving up long passes.
  23. Well, we know they want the NO story to come true. You know they're already readying the headlines: "Take that Katrina! Saints win!" and "The Brees is stronger than a Hurricane." I think they'll say Saints.
  24. Chavous was laughing, pointing the Bears' way. Oh no, Cory. It's on you buddy. Enjoy stopping us from the 1, kthxbye.
