  1. Why don't we? Because the Bears have looked unbelievably good at times this year. They've also looked unbelievably awful. It's hard to say if we'll be 1 and done or not because no one knows what team and quarterback is going to show up. We haven't see those good, dominant Bears since the 2nd half of the Giants game. That was forever ago. Since then, it's been pretty spotty, even in our victories. How & why would the team from 7 weeks ago suddenly show up instead of the one that's been struggling for many weeks in a row?
  2. Griese doesn't see much of anything. That's why he's been cycling through the league like Lance on the Tour de France.
  3. Seriously, no "don't let the door hit your ass on the way out" talk. No "get off the bandwagon we don't want you anyway" junk. No "You don't support your team!!!" crud. Someone explain to me in logical terms why we don't get beat in that first playoff game. NY/Dal/Sea: I believe Sea would have the hardest time coming on the road, but please. All these teams are better than the Pack. This game is meaningless, yes. But it was clear the Bears tried to win, clear they can't just turn it on/off like a light switch. I'm real concerned we're one & done. I don't see how not.
  4. That's so weird, I did too! Maynard's the best QB we have tonight.
  5. Just out of curiosity, why?
  6. Honestly, I don't do it anyways. Sports media is awful. I know. I don't know why I do it. I need to stop.
  7. edit: Double post, not sure how. Ignore
  8. Well Lovie's going to start Griese anyway, LOL. Great. Now I can't read the paper, listen to the radio or watch ESPN or Comcast for the next 2 weeks.
  9. I want Grossman playing... atleast some.. the rest i agree i dont want to see them either... Agreed. Let him try and work this out now. IF he comes out in the 3rd and gets a couple good drives, I'll bet everyone will feel a lot better. Of course, watch him put 2 TD's up, cust it to 23-14, and Griese will come in, they'll win, and then all hell will break loose. This is a good point. Lovie can't play Griese now. At least not until (and UNLESS) Grossman can lead a couple solid drives.
  10. If any of the vets on this team try to pull that anti-Benson crap next year I'll personally travel to Halas Hall and ring their necks. Benson has come to play every time he's been called on this year. Tonight he's the only guy who looks like he gives a damn.
  11. They're starting to drop games now. The Savard honeymoon is over. Now is when we discover if Savard will survive as coach.
  12. I know it. That's all we'll hear. On the radio, in the papers, on ESPN. Wait 'til you hear it if Rex melts down in the first playoff game. :-&
  13. No sir Truffie Mc Shuffie, NO wins that game and goes to duh supah bowhl! NE is waiting for them, and wins it all.
  14. Welcome off the bandwagon then
  15. Therein lies the problem of having no motivation in your last game or two. Lovie Smith is trying to keep them going by having the regulars play, but they really know that the game means nothing. So they play like crap, and now this is bad for confidence heading into the playoffs. But if you don't play the starters, then they're really rusty after 3-4 weeks of no real game action. It's being stuck between a rock and a hard place. bingo. you win an extra shot of JD in about 2 hours. sorry I can't buy it for you, I need to save up to pay for losing my bet tonight
  16. Not that I don't know this is a "meaningless" game, but everyone should realize that this is the other side of the coin in the "play 'em or rest 'em" debate. A good reason for resting starters in a game like this is because it's hard to be quite as motivated, it only takes a little bit less to start getting beat, and you don't want the starters to go into the playoffs doubting themselves. But, I still agree with starting them. Lovie tried resting them last year and it didn't work, so time to try the other way.
  17. Which probably isn't saying much, but hey good for the kid.
  18. I don't watch many Bears games, but Jones' rushing average is nearly half a yard better than Benson. There might be some reason everyone hates Jones and loves Benson, though. It's because Benson doesn't go down nearly as easily. He gets tough yards; TJ really doesn't. It's not that I don't like TJ. I actually do. But Benson is better, IMO.
  19. I can't remember. We're crap now. I couldn't see us beating the 49ers in the playoffs, much less NY/Sea/Dal That's fine, the bandwagon was getting too full anyways. Bandwagons are for N00bs.
  20. Only Benson came to play tonight. And maybe Moose. Interestingly enough, I'd rather expose TJ to the injury risk tonight than Benson (obviously hoping for no injuries).
  21. I can't remember. We're crap now. I couldn't see us beating the 49ers in the playoffs, much less NY/Sea/Dal
  22. I take it all back. We're one and done for sure. Seattle will kill us.
  23. Let's say the Gnats win by 7. How much does GB have to win by to get the point differential tie-break?
  24. Ugh, I couldn't stay out of this thread. Brock shouldn't be in the HOF therefore he shouldn't be a baseline for HOF OFers going forward. But the fact is, he is in the HOF. We can't remove those already enshrined, so the fact they are is relevant. Dawson if enshrined would not lower the caliber of player in the HOF. No, Dawson doesn't merit mention with the best or even an average HOF. But he is of the level of the lowest group of HOF player, as his comparison to Brock. Dawson likely was better offensively and defensively than Brock. If Brock is a HOFer (and he is), Dawson should be as well. If we can't compare him to current HOF, then compare him to players of his generation. Dawson surely makes the Hall on that standard. Maz is in. Therefore, Izzy should go. Maz: .260 .299 .367 Izzy: .259 .295 .336 Oh wait. Damn. Izzy can't quite slug at a hall of fame level!
