  1. Seems like its going to take a crapload of restructuring elsewhere to keep the team afloat since they were already way over the cap. I'm sure they'll magically find a way to do it, but its not going to be easy. Wonder what happens to Love...poor dude. I don't think he's any good but he also wont have much opportunity to confirm that unless GB trades him He must be P'd off although he probably won't say that. This isn't Favre / Rodgers where Rodgers was clearly ready. Love needs real work, actual first-team work and probably starts, right now. Especially after s*** the bed when he played this year. He's not going to "age" well on the bench. My guess is that his agent pushes for a trade. It's the right move for him. It's also the right move for GB, no?
  2. His deal actually creates cap space for them. I get how that works, but damn doesn't seem right to me. To hell with it, he sucks in the playoffs hopefully that continues. He watched both Brady and Stafford move on and win Super Bowls. But he sticks around in GB. Hope it blows up in his COVID-denying face.
  3. Apparently they are acquiescing to all Rodgers' demands, including giving him input on some personnel decisions. They backed the truck up and kissed his feet. Definitely shows that the Love pick was a fail, and they know it. Also, they franchised Adams. Not sure how he feels about that.
  4. Or perhaps the IOC was challenging and objecting as a way of deflecting from the fact that they knew full well her sample was taken and delayed, and why...
  5. I was bummed last night. Thought we had it after 2. Looking forward to tonight.
  6. That's pretty wild commentary from Lipinski and Weir, who generally traffic in trying to find the most creative words possible to praise pretty much every skater they see. (Weir apparently did not say a single word during the actual performance.) I like that they're not pulling punches about this. They didn't really punish Russia last time when it was clear they engage in complete and total, systematic state-sponsored cheating. The "ROC"? What a joke. Of course they continued doing it, why wouldn't they? So this is not surprising at all. What really sits badly with me is that other athletes are punished, just not Russians (Sha'Carri Richardson for example). Maybe Richardson should have lied and said some weed was accidentally inhaled at a club or something.
  7. Hehe I assume there’s a context here with the sports talk crowd but funny on its own too.
  8. Yeah, wasn’t it 1 sack in the first half and 6 after? And that’s not counting the final play when Burrow was about to get sacked. It was some point in the 2nd half they said the Rams had 3 or 4 recently and only 1 before it. Bengals has issues with the OLine all year so kind of fitting they lost at them end because they couldn’t hold up on two plays with a yard to gain. I don't recall the exact numbers but it did all seem to come apart for the Bengals OLine at once. Collinsworth pointed out that LA had made an adjustment to Cincy's double team of Donald, and after that Joe was seemingly harrassed on every pass. Good to see Floyd get a ring too, by the way.
  9. US climbing the medal count now, 2 more yesterday in women's Bobsled including gold. That gold was assisted by a Canadian (Kaillie Humphries) who expatriated to the US right before her event, and she was way, way better than any of the others in the field. I've been watching more of this than I thought. It's become bedtime TV watching because that's when the live feeds are on, mostly.
  10. It was good to see Stafford get it, and Donald stepped up in the biggest moments. Burrow and Cincy will be competitive for years if they figure out their pass protection. Last night the Rams figured out what they were doing and after that Joe really didn't have much chance to work his magic. Detroit fans, now know their FO and coaches are so bad that they ruined a great QB. How many teams get over a decade of a Super Bowl quality QB and still suck over a long period? A few, but not many.
  11. They also have a guy named AJ Brown, who would have probably been top 3 in receiving yards this year if he stayed healthy. Rodgers + Henry + Adams + Brown Rodgers + Henry + Adams + Brown ++ Broadway right across the bridge, with Kid Rock's club full of fellow Ivermectin fans. Score baby.
  12. Fair. I was more trying to get at a top QB wanting some comfort with at least one target as he makes a major move. But yeah, it's not the same situation.
  13. Do you think Rodgers would deliberately consider only teams that can afford / have desire to also bring on Adams? I think it's a good question, although I don't know we'd ever have visibility into that. It's kind of like Brady/Gronk. If he's going to make that move, he takes someone else he knows for a fact he can be successful with. I kind of think that's exactly what he'll do. Seems comfortable walking if not. It also answers people who might say, well X team doesn't have receivers so why would Rodgers go there? Because Adams is coming with him.

  15. Sounds that way. Maybe that's the source of the mismatch of enthusiasm.
  16. Looks like they are standing firm on keeping their GM even though Leftwich doesn’t want to work with him, and apparently he is not liked by others as well.
  17. Already the reactions are rolling in: "First in war, first in peace, last in the NFL East."
  18. Should have just gone from WFT to WTF. It’s easy and I think we can all agree quite fitting.
  19. I think he’s got them pinned. Definitely want to hear how they try to explain this one. And it’s about damn time someone finally calls out the worst kept secret in the NFL.
  20. Yeah maybe he'll be great for them, but it's not a given. I wasn't wanting him to come to Chicago, although 3/4 seasons in the NFC Championship game and 1 in the Super Bowl @ SF. It's hard to deny that he's a good hire for MIN.
  21. Yes. Lived there for the better part of a decade. They care about the Lakers and Dodgers. The NFL was always a tougher sell. I was there when both the Raiders and Rams left. It was probably the biggest collective “meh” in human history. Now they’ve got the mega destination stadium, so we’ll see. But like you said, there’s a reason. It’s not an NFL town.
  22. Holy Moly, best NFL playoff season ever?
  23. That’s an understatement. It’s front page ESPN, on major media sites, the tributes and career retrospectives have begun.
  24. Yeah he’s the GOAT but I can think of QBs with more pure talent. It’s just the consistency over such a long period, not only getting to multiple SBs but winning them. Then going to TB and lifting that team immediately to a SB. Playing well into his 40’s at a high level until the end. It’s amazing. But uh, Tampa Bay the clock just struck midnight. Back to mediocrity.
  25. I was not impressed with his running at all this season. I wouldn't heavily rely on that if we want him to stay healthy. Disappointing, even.
