  1. Paahhlumph. Bottom drops out.
  2. This isn’t fun.
  3. I hate this. That is all.
  4. Cubs searching for the bottom. Haven’t found it yet.
  5. Yep, some definite self preservation going on it feels like. Should they be treating Fields any other way? He might be “our guy” as fans, but he’s definitely not Poles’ guy.
  6. Sucks that we we “went for it” the year we had an impossible schedule and are retooling the year we have an easy schedule I can't get over the decision to keep Nagy and Pace following 2020. It was so obvious at that time that it needed to be done, setting up Pace and Nagy to go for it one more time almost literally against all odds (hardest schedule, no QB, aging roster, OL problems, lack of weapons). Drafting Fields made no sense with those guys doing what they were doing. I'll stop here, cuz this is a bad cycle I get into! Sounds familiar. The stars never align. At some point something has to happen to improve the team in spite of the conditions not being right. Because there's always going to be something that makes our situation less than ideal.
  7. Iowa State practically begging the Badgers to come back on them, but nope.
  8. I don’t think so, not tonight.
  9. Badgers simply cannot score.
  10. I mean it sucks to see them (IL) ousted early but they got beat pretty good today. They just didn’t get it done.
  11. Was there bad blood with Adams and team or something or was he just insulted that they would suggest he play on the franchise tag?
  12. That was about as bad a win as you’ll ever see…
  13. Uh, you know Jameis has multiple sexual assault allegations right? Let's not act like he's some model citizen. I do, and I’m not dismissing that. I honestly don’t know much about that case 10 years ago, but I do know what a creep Watson is. I’m happy he is going to Cleveland. Wait, how can you not know all about that?
  14. Good for Adams he cashed in while the iron was hot, for the Packers is it really going to be that much of a loss? They'll be someone else who emerges simply because Rodgers is at QB maybe, someone they draft with the picks coming back, seems everything they touch, at least in the regular season, turns to gold. And it horsefeathering sucks... Nah, losing Adams actually does hurt. He’s a legit top talent unlike a lot of other Packer players who are Rodgers products. I don’t know that it will blow them up or anything but there’s definitely pain from losing him.
  15. St. Brown is indeed trash. Classic Packers non-NFL player who Rodgers made look like an NFL player, and even then he's a bottom feeder. He's a waste of space.
  16. It's a bit ridiculous. The Bears have a ton of roster spots to fill so they are going to add FAs. I always figured we would be shopping from more of the secondary tier of FAs anyways. Give the dude a chance to execute his plan. What do they want, go on a FA signing spree like the Jags are? I think we've been down that road before more than once, got us here with a completely revamped leadership team and few draft picks to help rebuild the team. Build through the draft first. For us, that means getting the draft picks to begin with. Gonna take time...
  17. He’ll be around to break Packer fans’ hearts, once again. Is this a reference to a single game in 2020 where Brady had QB rating in the 70s? It's just such a petty and goofy take. I just want to go full-on goofy and petty right now but no, enough is enough :)
  18. He’ll be around to break Packer fans’ hearts, once again.
  19. That's kind of a weird thing to say. I understand a path is being laid, but they aren't literally closer to a Super Bowl than they were a few days ago (except for the fact the earth has completed another rotation and there's one less day until the next SB). They are closer to a Super Bowl because of exactly what you said... they have a plan. They weren't winning a Super Bowl keeping Mack's salary around. They haven't even won a playoff game with him. Closer to a Super Bowl if you assume it wasn’t happening with the current squad + leadership. Which to me is a good assumption.
  20. This is it. The team pushed all in on Mack, then again with Quinn and didn't get the offense right at the same time. It left a lopsided team with too many resources pointed to the defense and Poles is addressing that. Positive outcomes: Draft capital - obviously, and acknowledging that this is probably the best offer out there you either take it or decline to re-align the resources - this was the correct decision Cap space - less of a positive for this year, but beyond they have flexibility to sign anyone they want. Even this year they will be able to Poles roster evaluation - he rightly saw that this team is not close to contending for a SB and took a declining asset and turned it into future players/flexibility. This seems like a lay up, but the previous FO screwed this up multiple times and kept going for it also... Chargers/Staley - What a pass rush with Mack/Bosa if healthy. I will be keeping an eye on this team for the Mack factor. If they wanted to go maximum boom/bust DL they should sign Akiem Hicks to 1/$5MM. If those three were all healthy this team would be bananas My first knee jerk reaction was what? A 2nd rounder?! But then looking at Mack's stats, he hasn't been a standout since 2018, and he's over 30, and had season ending surgery this year. Eh, I don't like it but I think the draft pick compensation was probably OK, except I wish they could have gotten that second pick for this year and not next year. Agree with all your other points too.
  21. I hate shift bans, but I think the board is pretty well split 50/50. Yeah, I feel like if anything there's a slightly favorable view toward some sort of shift limitations, but as someone who's on your side of hating it I might just be mentally cataloging all the positive views as a defense mechanism. I don't like the shift but to me, the hitters themselves could make it a less frequent occurrence by sacrificing a little off the power numbers and bunt down the 3rd base line, or if they can simply adjust their swing and slap the ball through the infield against the shift. I'd rather have it taken care of on its own rather than establishing rules. I'm probably way out there on this one, but that's my thought on it anyway. It's not like I'm going to flip out if they do a rule change.
  22. Wouldn't that be a salary floor then? Or is it to protect the owners from going over the player share of revenue? Well there is a cash floor of 90% (over either 3 or 4 year periods). But the ability for a team to overspend is there and if enough teams did overspend over a long enough time then eventually the future year cap growths would be impacted because provisions exist to basically claw back or catch up any year where the revenue split target isn't met. In my non-expert mind this discussion tells me that it’s mostly a mirage that teams might be hampered by cap issues. But I hear that kind of talk a lot. Not too long ago someone here seemed convinced that the Packers wouldn’t be able to keep Rodgers. Yet here we are, and with Adams back too.
  23. After weeks of negotiation (and waiting to see what Rodgers does)...
  24. Seems like its going to take a crapload of restructuring elsewhere to keep the team afloat since they were already way over the cap. I'm sure they'll magically find a way to do it, but its not going to be easy. Wonder what happens to Love...poor dude. I don't think he's any good but he also wont have much opportunity to confirm that unless GB trades him He must be P'd off although he probably won't say that. This isn't Favre / Rodgers where Rodgers was clearly ready. Love needs real work, actual first-team work and probably starts, right now. Especially after s*** the bed when he played this year. He's not going to "age" well on the bench. My guess is that his agent pushes for a trade. It's the right move for him. It's also the right move for GB, no?
