  1. and 40 years of experience with 10 superbowl wins (I'm clearly being sensational) If TB was in his 2nd year, would he succeed with this Bears roster? In TBs actual second year his WRs were Troy Brown, David Patten and Mark Edwards. His line was probably really good though. He had his share of struggles and several sub 200 yard passing games but that team won the Super Bowl so maybe its not the best comparison (i should probably delete bc I'm making a comparison that I'm not too serious about). But I do believe young developing QBs can still find success with subpar weapons. But you need a coaching staff that can put that QB in the best positon to succeed. I believe that too (QBs can succeed with sub par talent). That said, it's not knowable whether Brady would have succeeded with the Bears incredible lack of offensive talent in the passing game. So we just need to figure it out by watching him play the rest of the year. I think we're all in agreement on that. Yesterday was disconcerting, but it's not the end. Just going to have to go through these games and see where Fields lands after that. I think he'll get plenty of opportunities this year.
  2. Jeebus H Ba-jeebus, it's a dark splotch. There's no football to be seen. Get over it!
  3. He's looking down his primary receiver and holding the ball way too long. OK, I guess you are right. It's still a little too early. But what you posted is like deja vu for every other failed QB the Bears have had. It's too early, he doesn't have help, too many coaches, etc etc. I find it to be more likely at this point he will ultimately fail, for whatever reason(s) we want to point to. But since this season isn't going to be a good one anyway, I'm OK continuing to play him.
  4. That’s not how replay works. They don’t draw lines and assume things. It has to be clear and that wasn’t clear. If the roles were reversed we’d be apoplectic that they overturned a call without irrefutable evidence. It probably was a touchdown, but barely and not clear on replay. If you run a play that leaves you open to that problem from an inch out, that’s on you. And even if they overturn that call the bears don’t win that game. Just freaking stop already. That's exactly right.
  5. Yeah the Bears need to run early and middle and late. If they want to utilize Fields as another back or key some passes off his legs fine. But there’s no universe where he isn’t pounded into the turf as a pocket passer.
  6. Fields has show more than just the occasional big play, he continues to hold on to ball, he's making bad reads, I don't care who his WR are, he's still making horsefeathers reads. He looks down his receivers too often too. Kiss of death in the NFL.
  7. Yep.
  8. That was very Bears.
  9. That’s a BS spot and should be overturned.
  10. Man. Run the ball like this the rest of the season as far as I’m concerned.
  11. Turn it back over probably.
  12. Wow there’s bad run D, and then there’s THIS.
  13. Looking for positives, the schedule is more favorable the next few weeks.
  14. Well Lance isn’t ready and sad to see that injury but if Jimmy G played last week no way the Bears win.
  15. Well Lance isn’t ready and sad to see that injury but if Jimmy G played last week no way the Bears win.
  16. Agreed but I wanted to see if the Bears would show anything fresh given new coaching staff. Nope. Same Bears.
  17. Yeah last week was fun but this is the real Bears.
  18. That’s exactly right. It’s an old story too.
  19. On the precipice of blowout now.
  20. WTF
  21. We need plays that use Field’s legs. Can’t just drop him back in the pocket. This one has gone South fast.
  22. 2nd and 28. Going to be a long night.
  23. Yeah if this is the plan then it won’t matter if the offense doesn’t turn over. The drives themselves are turnovers.
