  1. Well there it is.
  2. Hate the orange helmets.
  3. I say no to that right now. Mitch had some flashes of brilliance too. Some great throws, some fantastic scrambles. Easy to forget, his 2nd season was his best. 24TD/12INT, the team went 12-4 and he was a PB selection. Then in year 3 he regressed, the team was bad in no small measure because he was mediocre. That continued into 2020 and he was done. I need to see more from Fields to say he's progressed beyond Mitch, as disappointing as Mitch was.
  4. It was 2 completely different football teams wearing the same jerseys. That included Fields but there were other things too like the defense holding MIN off the board until that final drive (which was soul-sucking but whatever).

    NFL Week 5

Mets / Jets Yanks / Giants NY is having way too much fun right now and something must be done.
  6. There was some good stuff but 30 minutes of good football and another 30 of comically bad football isn’t something I’m going to try to hang my hat on.
  7. I think so. Not sure if there are stats on that but we need time on the clock
  8. I was distracted on that TD run was it a solid holding call?
  9. One good play to talk about…
  10. Fields is basically a running back.
  11. Eberflus may not recover from this simply because it’s so bad nobody will have any confidence in him.
  12. It’s trash in every aspect of the game.
  13. This is not a professional football. Obviously.
  14. Oh dear lord.
  15. 2 Vikings OL knocked each other down and still no pressure.

    NFL Week 5

They are well coached, that team was at half strength. Of course, leading the majority of the game and only giving Jones and Dillon 19 carries total is...... Nagy. LaFleur can’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag. Unless Rodgers succeeds on his own, he will fail.
  17. 31-13 Vikings. Only TD in garbage time.
  18. That's a great chart.
  19. My memory is such that nothing after beating Ohio State in 2007 happened. Until last Saturday. I actually happy about it. I've never had much to do with the Illini other than born & raised in the state, but somehow it's a good thing for me anyway. The next 3 games are against teams I'd love to see taken down (Iowa, MINNESOTA, and Nebraska).
  20. I mean, this past offseason is basically totally useless as to trying to tell us what Poles can do because he mostly punted on trying. You got a couple second rounders you can try and evaluate him on, but even then, grading draft success takes time. So who knows, but they have cap space to do whatever they want this offseason. Enough to dramatically increase the quality of the O. Not top 5, but competent, middle of the road O. Getting beyond that you need a QB obviously. If he punts on trying in FA again it will erase any idea that he is planning on building around Fields. not doing a damn thing to get some talent at WR or OL (and no, signing everyone's washed up 1st rd pick wr doesn't count) is what I can evaluate him on. he had cap space this past offseason, enough to do SOMETHING and he didnt The "why" is important here. And I don't think we'll get that answer this year. Why did he sit on his hands rather than make those moves? We'll find out but not until we see what future moves he makes, or doesn't make, next offseason.
  21. It's one of those things that might be down the list of concerns now. But it will drive people insane in the context of a season where expectations are much higher.
  22. The Bears QB situation is very similar to the 108 year WS drought situation with the Cubs. Who is the Theo of the NFL? It was when a leader who already won the championship decided to take on one of sports' greatest challenges that it finally happened. Perhaps some GM, someday, who wins the SB will think he can seal his legacy as one of the best ever by bringing top offense to Chicago and win the SB.
  23. it is unreasonable to expect a 2nd year qb in a new system with no talent around him and a coaching staff determined to not try, to elevate the offense around him. Fields had an impossible task that maybe only a HOF vet would be capable of achieving. It is unreasonable. I think we all wanted Fields to be the MJ of the NFL and be an unstoppable force, unfortunately we have a young QB that needs to grow into being a NFL QB. But the Bears being the Bears, they are entirely inept at doing just that. To me, that's what's frustrating. Every horsefeathering year is another year the team is somehow allowed to waddle around with their thumbs uta instead of doing what every other nfl team seems capable of doing Getsy, Poles and Eberflop aren't going to figure out Fields in time. Instead, Fields will fail, Poles will get to draft his QB who will also fail to develop and we'll be looking at a new gm in 5-7 years It's the sense of dread based on the history of the team. Poles is his own guy, so is Eberflus. It's just that we are in a deja vu cycle, a groundhog day lasting generations. There won't be any indication it will change, until one day it does. So someone simply needs to overcome all that and change the trajectory of the organization. Until we see it, it's nearly impossible have faith it will happen.
