  1. I'm expecting this injury to carry over into '08......maybe even for the life of his contract. As a Cub fan I'm expecting they will amputate it tomorrow. We can rebuild him. We have the technology... I remember when that only cost $6 million dollars. So how much will it cost to rebuild our $136 million dollar man? Due to inflation, it's gonna cost another $200million.

  3. Here we go. Leadoff single. Brace yourselves, defcon 1!
  4. I know why you are saying that, but I believe it's dead wrong. I believe we would have needed Sori to go on a prolonged hot streak to get to the playoffs anyway. If he's out, that has no chance of happening. Murton's not going to get more play time, if that's what you are thinking. Lou hates Murton, it's pretty clear. The current run has been accomplished with Soriano putting up some very mediocre numbers. Losing Sori would hurt but it doesn't mean the season's over. The current 'run' has actually been over for awhile now. We're 5-5 in our last 10 games. Soriano was extremely hot when we were actually hot as well, though not for the entire time, it takes multiple players getting hot to put together a prolonged streak like we had. Murton won't play more. Look for Pagan to get the play time. This lineup is now severely underpowered. If that works out, then fine. I still think it's a huge loss. Nah, it's not over. The Cubs still have the best record in NL since June 3 (36-20 the Yanks are first in MLB at 37-20. The next closest NL team is the Rockies at 30-26). Well the Red Sox have the best record since April 1st  When I think current hot streak I think recent games, that's why I looked at our last 10.

  6. No doubt a serious one, judging by the reaction. That's got to be a preventable injury. Our training staff is terrible, has been forever.

  8. Gotta be some kind of major injury. I'd prefer an injury being caused by something tangible, or not at all. These injuries that happen just doing normal things like running, are maddening -- and often, preventable.
  9. That sound you hear is coming from Milwaukee..
  10. My God, that's it. That's got to be a long-term injury.
  11. He's talking about him & his road crew. Mellencamp's takin' over.
  12. Everyone into the bomb shelter, it's Marquis.
  13. This is crazy, but I almost think we have a better chance if Marquis is yanked quicker and we get in to the bullpen. He's that horrible. If Lou leaves him in, he's a 5 run inning waiting to happen.
  14. Does Floyd have good numbers against Glavine? If not, then why isn't Murton starting tonight??
  15. Mke that 2-1 since the tirade. Obviously Yost's message didn't make it to the bullpen. Yeah, haha. The BP couldn't see the fight in the tunnel! Next time move it out where everyone can see.
  16. Yost searching for answers in the post game presser, really struggling to find what to say. Best comment: Reporter: "Did you see poetic justice in Rowand's grab?" Yost: "No, I uh, don't really like poetry very much."
  17. I'm pretty much numb to these losses now. We have had 7 walk off losses this year and a few blown games like this as well. That's exactly how I felt earlier in the year with the Cubs. Just feels like there's no lead that is safe.
  18. **heart pounds** Phils win.
  19. Wow, just incredible. Phils doing their best to blow it right back just like the Crew did. Runners on 2nd & 3rd, 2 out, Mesa looking like he has no clue how to get anyone out.
  20. Now Phils can't get the final out, wow.
  21. OH MY GOD!!! ROWAND CATCH OF THE YEAR IN ALL MLB!!!
