  1. Vance, you are now the 2nd best WR in Louisiana. Drew Brees has to be hating this move. I actually like this move for both clubs. The Saints are deep at one position and that is WR, and they desparately need help stopping the run...well and the pass for that matter. The D is lacking. Stallworth had slipped to #3 on the depth chart per my understanding behind Horn and Devry Henderson. I follow the Saints (proximity) and the Colts (father's family lives in Indianapolis); I believe this to be a positive for the Saints. I don't think this is a good move for the Saints at all. Devry, while I like him being from LSU, is just not a legitimate #2 receiver. The Saints needed help at linebacker, but trading Stallworth wasn't a good idea. This is more a result of Donte falling out of favor with Payton than anything else. Do we know why Stallworth fell out of favor? Injury problems early in his career and dropped passes since then.
  2. At least you didn't sign Jeff George like the Raiders just did :D It could come down to Jeff George and Kerry Collins in the battle for the #1 pick. Of course, Volek and Brooks is just as epic a battle. Jets fans, I didn't forget about you either. Your general talent sucks too. Ted Ginn a Titan. =P~
  3. Just 5 days until the Vols' redemption! This is truly the best time of the year. go Bears! They'll win the Pac-10, they better beat Tennessee. Go Bruins! They probably should, but they better not overlook us. Though, Tennessee could be as good as anybody in the SEC this year, if Ainge and the offensive line pan out. If that's true, us winning is no upset.
  4. Well, I don't really care if we win the game-I just thought that if Guz was going to be ineffective, we could give Rusch one more chance to hopefully increase his trade value (his value can't get much worse, so there's not much danger of that). Of course, I said that before the Bay strikeout-if he's going to get out of the inning, then you shouldn't pull him and hurt his confidence in between innings-so I like that he'll pitch for a while longer until he gets into trouble again. No one is going to take Rusch. We couldn't give him away. :( Perhaps it's my optimistic nature but I thought that same thing about Neifi.
  5. Before or after the internet? :)
  6. Just 5 days until the Vols' redemption! This is truly the best time of the year. go Bears! I've heard many good things about Marshawn Lynch. Luckily we have a stout d-line and very solid, though young, linebackers. It should be fun to watch if nothing else. Just remember, we're still mad from last year, gotta knock that chip off our shoulder. 8)

  8. At least you didn't sign Jeff George like the Raiders just did :D George might've been better, he'd have been so bad we would have only played him in a couple games then we'd have been forced to bench him. Collins might be decent enough to last the season, while we don't develop Vince.
  9. Woohoo. Titans just signed an older version of our current starting quarterback, Kerry Collins. Can't say I understand this move at all, let Billy Volek play till we're out of it and then put in Vince. I can't figure how Collins will help this year. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2564189 Edit: forgot the link

I don't really like this deal for the Saints, but think it's great for the Eagles. The Saints don't have that much quality depth at receiver, Joe Horn, Devery Henderson and Mike Haas are their only quality receivers and Haas has never played a professional snap. Donte' is only 25 and had the best season of his career last season. Plus, he's been healthy only twice in his career, the last two seasons. He's starting to show the potential he had coming out of Tennessee and could easily be the #1 receiver the Eagles desperately need. Finally, Simoneau's really nothing but a so-so player who's a slight upgrade, if at all. Great deal for the Eagles, they're gonna be much better now with Donte' Stallworth and Reggie Brown as #'s 1 and 2.
  11. :-s He's real fast. :) And you know how Dusty loves speed. Exactly. Why else did we keep him around?
  12. Might as well let him pitch and try to get some trade value. Who knows, maybe we can pawn him off on somebody by Aug. 31.
  13. A lot of people don't have access to the radio or TV broadcasts so they follow the game in this thread. Great people like Fred post play by play and such. It's also a chance to mingle with fellow posters during games. Welcome to the board, by the way.
  14. Some kind of elbow issue to O'Malley, Len's saying that he was on the DL earlier this year, I think, with tennis elbow. O'Malley coming out. That can't be right. He's a baseball player. I'm pretty sure that's what I heard Len say, though granted I was typing as he was talking. I know I've heard of some baseball player getting tennis elbow though. Zambrano had tennis elbow last year, didn't he? I think, but I'm not sure. Maybe some more medically inclined fellow can enlighten us.

  17. Hey Fred, I'm spending the next three days in Amarillo, Texas, wherever that is. do you have any suggestions/tips (even heard of the place?). By the way, Pujols has a 3 run HR and a grand slam tonight, Pujols 7, Mets 6 after 6 innings. I'll be in Amarillo tomorrow morning !! Not much there in Amarillo. I only drove thru a couple of times. They do have an Indy League baseball team, though. They've had some severe weather recently (rain). There are some neat little towns along 40 in NM. Great country song about Amarillo. Amarillo by Morning by George Strait, great song. :)
  18. Why? Traded to the Tigers for Neifi Perez Yes! Now he can save us! (I know, I went too far, I'll quit  )
