  1. Nice! I'm currently looking to get my hands on some Titans/Colts in Nashville tickets.
  2. If Barrett had gone to the AL or to a bad team it would be addition by subtraction. In this case it sure seems like subtraction alone since he went to a playoff calibre team who might be taking the wild card out of the picture. And he's not helping them out much at all.
  3. Attractive, but highly overrated. I can buy overrated since EVERYONE talks about her, but highly overrated might be stretching it. She's too attractive to be highly overrated. I wouldn't even say overrated - she's absolutely gorgeous.
  4. Well 1 worthless bat gone. Jesus that Barret trade was horrible! Pretty much a DFA. At least Hendry can admit he's wrong. Hopefully Kyler Burke turns into something useful. He has what? one hit since he joined our system? 10 for his last 21 :D
  5. Went with hot. Not the most gorgeous woman I've ever seen, but there's little wrong with her.
  6. Not nearly as embarrassing as it is for baseball to have him as its star player. CT, you're posts look very strange without the blue font. Why did you drop it?
  7. Dopirak? He's putting up mediocre/bad numbers in Daytona. What happened to Dopirak? He was injured last year (I think) and seems to have never been the same since. Am I right or is it something else?
  8. As much as I love Len and Bob, there will never be a booth duo I prefer over Harry and Steve. It may just be nostalgia, but I've never heard anyone I like better.
  9. Dallas Morning News had an article yesterday about Sammy and Lofton. Here's the portion about Lofton: Nothing mentioned about the Cubs, though we could potentially be one of the "other clubs" mentioned. Also, sure hope the Brewers don't get him. That would really suck. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/baseball/rangers/stories/071507dnsporangdate.338284c.html
  10. I'd be shocked if the Rangers demanded Gallagher for Lofton. He'd likely be included in a Gagne offer, but I'm not really in favor of a reliever anyway - unless he comes very, very cheap. I am greatly in favor of Lofton, though, if we can't get anybody more significant. Lofton would be a huge upgrade over anything Pie, Jones or Pagan might give us this year. His .309/.391 would look awesome batting first or second.
  11. what would it take to get them though? i don't think it would take much to get lofton, but gagne will be in higher demand. have to give up some young pitching, most definitely. Lofton wouldn't cost much - marginal prospect probably - but I saw a report in another thread saying the Rangers are going to ask for quite a bit for Gagne. EDIT: It's in vance's Sammy thread in Transactions. Vance quotes an article from mlb.com.
  12. I mentioned Franco in the Transactions thread reporting his release. Despite the questions surrounding him, I think it would be a good pickup - his numbers against lefties this year are quite good. The only catch is that he can (to the best of my knowledge) only play first base, meaning to have ample backups elsewhere we'd likely have to go with 11 pitchers. Fine with me, but probably not with Hendry and Lou.
  13. Not necessarily. Len just read out of the rulebook that when the starter fails to go five innings, the official scorer can decide which reliever gets the win. They usually go with who pitched better (sometimes they do go with who had the winning lead though).
  14. I'd go with Marmol. He came into a jam and pitched out of it then did well the next inning. Wuertz pitched himself into a jam and then got out of it. Marmol was a little better today. Dang Theriot...
  15. I'm ok with it here. Not usually crazy about sac bunts, but chances are Izzy wouldn't have done anything productive by swinging.
  16. Good bunt by Izzy. Now Theriot needs to drive in Angel.
  17. I thought so too at first, but after seeing the replay he avoided the tag by reaching with his right arm. Ump was right here. But, it doesn't matter cause Marquis got out of it. :D
  18. Not if they're asking an arm and a leg for him. The report said they were going to drive a "hard bargain" for him - he's not worth giving up as much as that implies considering our situation.
  19. I tend to agree with you, but I really wish it would happen. Bringing back Sammy to help us with our first real playoff push since he was here would be terrific. Like you said, though, I doubt Hendry's willing to consider it.
  20. The more I watch Andruw hit, the more it seems like a mechanical issue. His struggles began with a small mechanical issue and up to the All-Star break (the last time I watched a Brave game) he hadn't fixed the issue. It appears, though, they may have fixed the problem over the break.
  21. blister on his finger. things are going badly for the brewers. edit: i guess it's not a blister, bur more serious? I hate to see injuries, but I love the predicament this puts the Brewers in. Villanueva was used up yesterday and now Gallardo is going to have to give them 2-3 innings today.
  22. Helton has already seen 18 pitches tonight. Sheets at 66 pitches so far. He's coming out. Gallardo apparently about to come in.
  23. And Sheets grabbed his hand on the next pitch to Helton. Yost and the trainer are out to check on him.
