That was true freshman Eric Berry that picked that off. Great play by a guy that's going to be incredible. I feel a slight bit of hope again. :)

Being faster doesn't necessarily mean more yards per play. If the defense allows the player to exploit the speed (which Tennessee is doing by missing tackles), then yes, you're right. I am very, very worried about the ineptitude of the UT defense to tackle this year. The two elite teams we've played - Florida and Cal - we've been completely unable to tackle. That's not a good sign.
-
May be too little too late, but that was a really nice drive we just put together. Ainge is looking really good today. Can't say a much for the offensive line's run blocking ability, though. Or the defense's ability to play football. Of course, more than anything Tennessee does or doesn't do, Florida is just a phenomenal team. They're fast. Other than that and Tebow's running ability, there's not much that I've seen that's better than a team like Cal. Florida's great, but we should be putting up a better fight than this crap.

Tennessee players may keel over on the field from shooting themselves in the foot so much today. We can't make these mistakes and hope to beat Florida.

im pissed

Could you please tell Fulmer to have the boys to knock Tebow out? I can't stand that guy. I'm sure he'd like to see it as much as any of us. The defense HAS to tackle please. Or defend the pass.
-
The weird thing about Auburn is they'll find a way to upset a good team like Georgia or Florida. The last couple years, Auburn's had an embarrasing loss, but then beat a good football team.
-
Tebow's done nothing so far on the ground. Tennessee's done very little more, but at least I can take solace in that we're stopping Tebow.
-
No kidding. The defense is still solid, it appears, but the offense is deteriorating more each season.
-
The Auburn offense has stalled again after the half. The Tigers just punted back to Miss State, just over a minute to go in the third, still 14-13 Auburn. An upset would go a long way to saving Sylvester Croom's job. I'm hoping the Bulldogs pull it off.

Agreed. Would had been nice to see K-State beating them, but K-State's depth did them in. They just walked right down the field to score - looked like Cox is out of the game though. Cox = Overrated QB. What took Tuberville so long to realize that, I don't know. I've said multiple times that Cox is mediocre at best. With the porous line Auburn currently has and no real weapons at receiver (comparable to Obomanu and Aromashodu, etc at least), he's showing his mediocrity. Looks like Kodi Burns has taken over and is tearing up Miss State. 14-13 Tigers at halftime.

Holy cow. Mississippi State leads Auburn by 13 with 7 minutes to go in the first half. Auburn sucks this year.

It'll be tough, but I think it's possible for ya'll to upset either one in the championship game. And sorry for getting Chase's name wrong, I thought about whether the s should be there or not as I typed. 50/50 chance and I got it wrong.

Honestly, we're debating between what's above average and very good? :D Gotta have something to do, don't we? :D God love college football! Now if only Syracuse could be back in the mix again for me! Of course, they do play another cruddy Big 10 team! I'm not sure if I love or hate college football right now. The Tennessee/Florida game is in less than 24 hours and the outcome of that will likely dictate my view of college football for a while. I'm rooting for the Vols and then for Florida to beat LSU. It's too bad you guys don't get to play LSU. That's what I like about the Big East, everyone gets to play each other once. Ironically, not in hoops, go figure? Until this year that is. I'm curious on what teams will sneak up on us this year like Rutgers did last year. I knew they were young and good but I didn't think they were that good. Will it be Tigers Tigers or Bob's Hawkeyes as we all know that Yeti's App St team is pretty good! I do love the ND/Michigan game getting more publicity than about any other game. If they were both 2-0 they would have talked about it and if they were 1-1 the same and now that they both are 0-2...it just never ends. The GTech vs BC game is a heck of a lot bigger impact wise than that game in the scope of things. Personally, I hope we do play LSU this year - in the SEC Championship game. :D I really like Mizzou this year. Chase Daniels is a very good (not above average  ) QB and the rest of the team is very solid. If they can beat out Nebraska for the North, I think they'll have a real shot at beating either OU or Texas for the championship. And as for ND/Michigan, they'll always get exhorbitant media coverage. Just like if the Patriots finished this year below .500, they'd still be the focus of attention ("Oh my, what's wrong with the great Patriots? How will the NFL ever survive without them?").

No Devine wasn't but that's all I've heard every time a BE team beats someone. They're having a down year or so and so was hurt or their the 7th best team in the league. And again, dismissing Maryland who was 9-3 and 2-0 this year goes with the turf. Are they Florida, no, but they sure are not Mississippi St either. And my point was that as freshman, White and Slaton ran by the best of the SEC and have continued to do so against whoever they have played. First off, Maryland was not 9-3 last year. They were 9-4 with losses to WVU, Ga Tech, BC and Wake Forest. Second, going 2-0 this year is not impressive in the least. They beat Villanova by 17 - a 1-AA team that finished 6-5 last year. They also beat Florida International who is possibly the worst 1-A team. That's not the least bit impressive. West Virginia is a legitimate National Championship contender. They are a great football team. I don't argue that point at all. But, you're not going to make the point by holding up a win over a very mediocre Maryland team. Better wins will come this season for WVU, don't try to make this look like anything more than it is - an easy win they should have had. I suppose what you think is easy and what I do are two different things. I agree that WV has to play better defense to have a chance to win this thing and it was a win they were favored to have but to dismiss it as easy, well I suppose semantics are involved. I'm curious on what you think a tough win would be? I'm not talking elite tough but a tough win against what you would consider a good team. Easy was probably the wrong word, but it was a game West Virginia should have won and should have won big. They did, and it's to their credit. It's not a huge win for the program, nor were they playing a "very good" football team. As for what a tough win would be, I would probably classify South Florida as a tough win. West Virginia should win the game, but I'll be surprised if they do it by more than a couple of scores. The Bulls aren't an elite team yet, but are very solid and will give anybody a good fight. Now a question for you. Why do you use Maryland's wins over Villanova and Florida International as reasons to refer to them as a "very good" team, and then chasitse other teams for playing mediocre 1-A teams - even though those mediocre teams are leaps and bounds better than Nova and FIU? I agree those wins by Maryland were of poor quality but I also looked at what they had coming back from their very good 9-4 and it pushed them into that territory. How many teams won 9 or more games last year? I think that pushes them over average. The problem with Maryland is that the only good quality win they had was over Clemson when the Tigers were going through their late season collapse. The next best wins they had were over Miami and Florida State - normally very good wins, but because of their declines the wins were about as meaningful as beating Michigan or Notre Dame this year. I could see the argument that Maryland is above average, but "very good" is a stretch to say the least.

im impressed. Not taking anything away from Devine (he's an incredible athlete), but it helps that Maryland really isn't anything special. It'll look a lot better when he starts tearing up good football teams. It's just too bad for the Mountaineers the White, Slaton, Devine, Reynaud foursome won't be together longer than this year (or possibly next). Maryland was 2-0 and went 9-3 last year and beat Purdue 24-7 in a bowl game. Special, maybe not but they are a very good team and the game was in Maryland. The specific plays and moves I came away impressed with could have been pulled on USC or LSU's defense to make them look silly. Like I said in my post, I'm not taking anything away from the athleticism of any of those players. They're terrific and were very impressive last night. The point I was making, though, was that they'll get more credit for it when (not if) they do it against the LSU's and USC's of the world. How about when those guys as freshmen put 38 on the SEC champ Georgia, or doesn't that count because the Bulldogs had a down year winning the SEC Championship? You're taking offense at a relatively innocent statement Cuse. I'm not saying they're unproven or unimpressive. Juking out Maryland just isn't that terribly difficult a thing to do. They're extremely athletic players, no doubt about it, I was just commenting that this wasn't a showcase game by any means. And Devine wasn't a part of the Georgia beatdown.

Whose the angriest looking player in baseball?

You of all people should look at schedules before saying that Cuse. Maryland was 9-4 last season and their best wins were over Virginia (decent), NC State (again decent) and Clemson (during their collapse). They lost to quality opponents such as West Virginia, Ga Tech, BC and Wake. They're 2-0 start this year? Over Villanova and Florida International. They're a decent team, no more.
