  1. I agree about Brohm as the top QB in the draft - I have yet to figure out why he's been forgotten about. Also, ya'll picked up Ben Hartsock today. Big time move for the Falcons. :D
  2. I think it was CBS that was talking about the Falcons taking Matt Ryan?!?! I'll see if I can find a link, but I'm sure that was the speculation on their pick. Every draft analyst it seems is extremely high on Matt Ryan and think he'll be the first QB taken (no idea why, there's probably two to three I'd take first). That would make it very likely he ends up a Falcon - and probably means a lot of playing time for Joey Harrington since Ryan's so raw. Who would you take over Ryan? I've never understood why Brohm fell off the face of the earth (besides Louisville's defense being terrible) and I might consider Woodson or even Ainge over him. I wouldn't take any QB in the top 5-10 though.

  4. =D> Heck yea! Just found it on the Tennessean website. Rumors of potential knee problems and drops last year worry me a bit, but he was a great weapon for the Falcons and hopefully he'll do similarly here. Best of all, the Tennessean is reporting its just a two year deal - which I figured would be ideal given his age and injuries. Not officially finalized yet, but his agent is saying he's "guardedly optimistic" they'll complete it by Monday. http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080302/SPORTS01/80302008/1027
  5. Nope, it's a virtual toss-up between him and Grossman and he's definitely better than Griese or Orton. Let's see, he's also better than Chris Redman (ATL), maybe Todd Collins (WAS), Vinny Testaverde (CAR), maybe David Carr (CAR), maybe Daunte Culpepper (OAK), Gus Frerotte (STL), Charlie Frye (CLE), maybe Joey Harrington (ATL)...I don't feel like naming any more, though I'm sure there are more. Jackson isn't a great QB at this point. But he's a decent young QB and may develop into something better - he might even get good at some point. That's more than you can say for Griese and Orton and probably Grossman too. EDIT: By the way, all those QBs I listed started at least one game in 2007 (usually more than just one) and the team they started for is in parentheses. You only listed the best Raiders QB. Don't know how you forgotthe joke of a starter known as Josh McCown. Yeah, I guess since I listed two Falcon QBs and two Panther QBs I should have been fair and listed two Raider QBs. Sorry soccer. :D
  6. Please don't happen... Good news! Good news! This is according to seahawkshuddle.com. I know nothing about them, but hopefully this is accurate. They said Williams also said Alge's likely to visit one more team and won't make a decision until after that. I've read at the Tennessean website that the Seahawks are balking at a big money deal because of limited cap space and injury concerns.
  7. I'll just keep praying the Titans get one or both of Roy Williams (WR) and Alge. That would be an awesome offseason - whatever happens with the draft. Yeah it's sickening how little the Titans have done. VY needs weapons, it's time to get him some. This offseason? I've got no problem yet. The main guys I want are still available so I'm not too worried. If we don't eventually get Vince some help, though, he'll never have the chance to improve him numbers. This is what I heard from Falcons fans in the early years, we got him Crumple and Peerless Price (who turned out to be a bust for us, but it was partly Vick's fault) and drafted two WR'S in the first round. He never improved his numbers and got worse. The criticisms I hear from Tennessee on VY are eerily similar to those from Atlanta on Vick in his early years. I'm not that concerned about Vince developing. He's got a duo of head coach and O-coordinator (Fisher and Mike Heimerdinger) who have exeperienced developing a young, athletic, poor passer (Steve McNair) and did it quite well. I blame a lot of Vick's problems on the coaches. Mora especially tried to turn him into a pocket passer (the West Coast offense implemented, etc) and that screwed him up. Fisher has shown he can deal with a high athleticism, poor passing QB and turn him into a very good NFL QB. Now, this doesn't mean it'll happen with Vince, but if he's going to develop I'm convinced this staff can make it happen. Need more weapons, though...

Roy Williams the receiver and Alge Crumpler. I then wouldn't mind Limas Sweed in the first round, but I could go either way on him. I definitely am hoping for at least one of Williams or Alge, though.
  10. there wasn't anyone to throw him the ball in chicago either The medicore QB situation in Chicago is still better than the absolute crap known as Tavaris Jackson. sure about that? tarvaris: http://www.nfl.com/players/tarvarisjackson/careerstats?id=JAC566507 rex: http://www.nfl.com/players/rexgrossman/careerstats?id=GRO597298 I would probably take Jackson over any of the Bears' QBs last year. If for no other reason than Jackson is younger and isn't injury prone. he isnt? Not as sure a thing as Grossman. Rex has missed most of four out five years in the NFL. Jackson only played four games in year one - I'm not sure if that was injury or not, though - but was around for all but four games this season. He may be injury prone, but hasn't proven it yet. Grossman definitely is.

  15. Yeah he's on pace for 112 points through 8 minutes, which would be, I believe, a little bit above his season average. Eh, he's a bum. He's only on pace for 68 points now...
  16. Forgot about Thomas.
  17. Illini fans, Why did Mendenhall not carry the ball more than 100 times in his first two years? Is there a tailback I'm forgetting that was better?
  18. No, a player with little talent killing the Cubs is business as usual, not weird.Unexpected? No. Frustrating? Definitely. I guess I get a little less frustrated when I resign myself to the fact that something will happen (like Augie killing us).
  19. No, a player with little talent killing the Cubs is business as usual, not weird. Sad but true, my friend. Sad but true.
  20. Derwood will also appreciate that the announcers have been talking up Anthony Morelli quite a bit. They commented about his stupid decisions, but seemed thrilled with his physical tools. i wouldn't trust Morelli to hold a clipboard right side up They did admit they thought somebody would overdraft him in hopes his physical tools would beat out his dumb decisions. I think it was Mayock that said, "He made the same stupid mistakes in his sophomore year as he did in his senior year." whatever GM drafts him should be fired immediately. Morelli is a stupid David Klingler. think on THAT for a minute Maybe the Bengals will use their first rounder for him.
  21. That's what the unofficial NFL Network results had him at. Quite impressive with his size.

  23. Beast. Where are you geting combine info? They're televising it on NFL Network. Don't know where on the internet you could find it though. Maybe nfl.com? I see McFadden is officially 6'1 1/4", 211 from looking at a video there. Still haven't seen results yet, though. They may not update til later. I've been watching most of the morning on tv - it's off now though, just wrap ups now.
