  1. Not great options, but decent matchups perhaps: Need one LenDale White v Indy Cadillac v Philly Indy has a bad run defense and the Titans may well turn to a very heavy run offense to lessen the awfulness of the defense, but Cadillac has been named the full-time starter in Tampa.
  2. If Hendry made the trade for Burrell and then he rebounded and we were out of it at the deadline, he'd be a great trading chip to an AL team. Of course, Bradley probably would too . . .
  3. I was watching the Hawks/Wings game so I missed most of the first half. I turned it over to see the last minute or so of the half. I didnt understand why the ESPN guys were making such a big deal about Missouri going for it. I think it is an easy decision. As for Momentum, I think you already lost most of it by settling for a FG in that situation. I think that's the reason most coaches don't go for it more - people will criticize it if it doesn't work, even though it's the right decision. One of the announcers last night even said he'll give him credit if it works, but question him if it doesn't. Another, however, gave him credit no matter the outcome.
  4. I'd go Smith and Bradshaw (if Smith plays). Just because Brown is splitting carries with Addai and Jones presumably would get more touches as the 'go to guy'. Neither one of those are great matchups. I'd go Calvin Johnson if he plays, if he doesn't I'd go Garcon. Tennesee is tied for dead last in the league against the pass. finnegan and harper are both banged up as well....i'm hearning finnegan's hammy was still pretty sore on wednesday. Both are going to play, but yeah, both are far less than 100%.
  5. Gus is fantastic.
  6. depends on what kind of contracts the local announcers have signed with their local affiliates. beyond that, there's this ridiculous thing that NATIONAL broadcasts need NATIONAL announcers. TBS would probably think they were slumming to use the Fox Sports Midwest crew for their broadcasts. But it's not limited to baseball; NFL broadcasts are just as bad Well there aren't local TV crews at all for the NFL, so thats not really an avenue that can be pursued. True, but they over value people like Joe Buck and under value people like Gus Johnson Gus should broadcast baseball games too.
  7. Depending on how much you like UZR: Kubel's career RF UZR: -9.3 He's 27 with a career .813 OPS. It's gotten progressively better the past few years, though, going from .785 to .805 to .907. He's currently signed through 2010 for $4.1 million with a $5.25 million 2011 club option.
  8. Nebraska just took control of this game.
  9. It's been a crazy game. Nebraska's stormed back much quicker than I expected them too.
  10. I still wouldn't watch, nor did I have any idea they were even playing. I forgot they were playing tonight, but I wanted to watch.
  11. It'd still be interesting to watch.
  12. I would watch, but DirecTV dropped Versus a week or two ago.
  13. That's probably the only situation I'd consider kicking the FG. The only difference with that situation and any other situation is that the loss of momentum would go with you into halftime. I don't care about the momentum factor. One of the big advantages of going for it is if you fail to convert the other team takes over in awful territory, and you'll likely get the ball back in their territory anyway. That's a good point. My main thinking is that the likelihood of gaining two yards is better than the other team stopping you. And with the torrential downpours that have been going on all day in Missouri, that field goal might have actually been difficult due to the angle and the rain.
  14. That's probably the only situation I'd consider kicking the FG. The only difference with that situation and any other situation is that the loss of momentum would go with you into halftime.
  15. Missouri just went for it on 4th and 2 from the Nebraska 2 yard line with 2 seconds left. The result: TD Missouri and it's 9-0 at halftime instead of 5-0. More teams should go for it in that area.
  16. That's because it was time to Hammer out the deal.
  17. Bring him and Levi Jones in. We need all of the help that we can get. If Tausch is healthy, he's a gigantic improvement over Barbre. Clifton needs to get healthy so Colledge can move back to guard. He's atrocious as a left tackle. I figured that news would excite some Packer fans. :D
  18. His peripherals were always good this year, even when his ERA wasn't that special. I tend to think some people got bothered by a poor ERA early in the year. I'm pretty happy with the season Dempster had.
  19. There's a difference between finding out if you can interview a candidate and actually interviewing a candidate. I think Rob is saying find out if those GMs are available and, if so, make the decision on Hendry then. Basically, don't fire Hendry and then find out good GM candidates are not available.
  20. I desperately want Brian Kelly if Weis is done after this year. Kelly and Mike Leach were at the top of my interest list in the offseason for the Tennessee job. I really like Kelly.
  21. For Packer fans:
  22. I'm still nervous about this one. Division game, Fisher always comes up with good game plans against the Colts, and I still don't buy Tennessee as a "true" 0-4 team. We'll see. I'm kind of in a state where I wouldn't be surprised if they win or lose. The talent is still there to be a playoff team, but they've shown no reason to think they'll play to that talent level. So I'm just confused.
  23. i'm going to the game...i just hope it's not a blowout. I was going to go, but it's too much to shell out for tickets and then have to make the 2:30 hour drive just to watch us get hammered. Now we'll probably win and I'll be kicking myself for not going. tickets are going to be real cheap come sunday, guarantee it. That may be true. Still hard to justify the drive right now, though.

  25. That's very much how I consider him (take my natural bias into consideration though). He's intercepted 13 balls in just over 2 collegiate years (he's a true junior) and has amassed 487 return yards and 3 touchdowns off of those picks. He's also just 15 yards shy of breaking the all-time NCAA interception return yardage record set by Terrell Buckley from 89-91.
