  1. agreed 100 percent. alabama is lucky they have a terrible schedule, or they'd be a 3 or 4 loss team Definitely. Alabama's offense is so horrible outside of the running game. Their QB is not good at all. When Julio Jones only has 20 catches for 229 yards through 7 games, then there is a problem at QB. Jones had 5 catches for 51 yards in the first half today and, in the second half, he had 2 catches for 3 yards. I didn't see Tennessee doing anything differently against him, McElroy just quit throwing his way.
  2. They can be. They've got the speed to be able to break some big plays, but have had some issues doing it consistently because of a weak receiving corps.
  3. agreed 100 percent. alabama is lucky they have a terrible schedule, or they'd be a 3 or 4 loss team They just don't have enough offense to go up against a more explosive team like Florida and consistently win. I heard a comparison during the week of Alabama to the Titans (before this year, obviously). I think that's a pretty accurate comparison, except for one point - the QBs. McNair and Kerry Collins have both been good enough to make plays when they had to even if they were "game managers" throughout the game. I'm not convinced McElroy can make a play against a great defense.
  4. In all honesty, after watching both teams against the same team, I think Florida is the better team than Alabama. I think they'll end up playing in the SEC championship game and I think Florida has the best chance to win.
  5. I wonder how much - if at all - Mullen's familiarity with Florida's personnel and Meyer's tendencies and game plan will help Mississippi State?
  6. Part of that has to do with distance. Usually, kickers use low line drive kicks from long range in order to get the distance. The closer you get, the higher you can kick it in the air in order to get it out of reach of the defensive line. Right, but even Lincoln's 24 yarder that he made earlier was kicked very, very low (as in just barely over the linemen). For whatever reason he was just kicking extremely low today and it bit him twice.
  7. The more you throw the more you take the chance that a great Alabama defense will intercept the ball. If Tennessee continues the drive and either gets the ball intercepted, runs out of time or Crompton gets sacked, Lane gets lambasted for that too. I think the right decision was made given the team Tennessee currently has. If the offense were better, I think they probably should have tried either for a touchdown or more yardage.
  8. They could've clocked it and ran a pass play but there's a good chance they don't gain another yard. Plus they can't afford to take a sack without a timeout. They had enough time for a pass play or two to the sidelines. Even a quick 5-8 yard route followed by a spike would have given them a better chance. It didn't matter if we were on the 5 or the 40, though. The kick was blocked and Lincoln wasn't getting his kicks high enough. And honestly, with the offensive mishaps we've had this year, I don't like the idea of playing with the clock.
  9. I wasn't going to be frustrated with this loss - until we had a legit shot to win it. Now it really sucks.
  10. Special teams cost us this game.
  11. Tennessee got the onside kick!!!!! We have a chance to win this thing!
  12. Touchdown Tennessee! Nice drive after the sack, but now we need that onside kick.
  13. Huge play by the defense. Offense has to do something here.
  14. To have any thoughts of winning this thing, the defense is probably going to have to score points here. Even a safety would be huge.
  15. That hurt. We have to get a touchdown quickly.
  16. Thank you very, very much referee.
  17. 15 yards in penalties was too much to make up. Field goal attempt is blocked.
  18. We need some positive thinking here.
  19. Great throw from Crompton to Moore puts Tennessee inside the Bama 30 heading to the fourth!
  20. That was a great defensive stand by Tennessee on 3rd and 1 to force the punt. Now let's get some points.
  21. Lane likes the wheel route a lot. Usually it goes to the running back, but off and on he'll try to get one to the full-back. Bama is guarding closely against the bootleg.
  22. Wow, a great drive through 10 plays just went awry after a sack. Ingram has 72 yards today - 53 of those out of the Wildcat.
  23. They haven't moved the ball with any consistency outside of the Wildcat formation. Alabama vs Texas would be a very interesting matchup. The Texas run defense is one of the best in the country and very fast. Alabama defense is great and gives up very few TD's. That'd be a fantastic matchup. Shipley would probably give Bama problems and I'd be interested to see how much Ingram and Richardson could run on the Texas D.
  24. But the Tennessee defense holds firm. Man, I love having a great defense.
  25. Bad opening drive for Tennessee and then a huge return for Javier Arenas. That's why we haven't been kicking to him.
